The words stung, though Bruce couldn't deny the truth behind them. Maybe that was what made them cut worse, there was no denying or fighting them, couldn't even if he tried. And he wouldn't, the time for trying to change his son's-the world's- opinion of him had come and passed and maybe that was for the best. He loved his family, thaty much was undeniable, and that gave him a weakness. Weaknessess could be exploited. "Anything else?" He asked, the tone of his voice leaving no trace of the uncertainty that Dick's accusation had churned inside of him. Dick would hear only the same chill he'd called out in him, the same dismissal that had cut him to the core a thousand times before. Maybe this time Dick would react with more than anger. Maybe this time he would be gone forever. He hoped not. But maybe it was for the best.

The offended look that crossed the archer's face was laughable. "Excuse me, I have an incredibly thick head of hair, and I dare you to find a grey hair in the batch. Bruce Wayne, meanwhile is clearly going grey at the temple...and his hairline is receeding." He paused a moment. "Wait...why would I be jealous?"

She shook her head and couldn't decide wether she should laugh or cry or show nothing that all. 'Well you did, hurt me. And I know...I know you didn't do it on purpose, that's the worst part of all this. Ypu're too damn good to hurt me on purpose and yet...you still didn't think, didn't.... couldn't put me first. "

Roy blinked. "There are when it's not a car chase but you trying to get to the house to eat the fresh doughnuts before Bart gets there. See, this is why Dinah lets me drive the motorcycle and not you." Herbrow furrowed. "Besides, Had Dick go get fresh ones AFTER I sent Tim . That means we're guaranteed sugary goodness.Not that that matters, because we still would not be running red lights, cause that's...bad." See, she could get the hang of this parenting thing, she didn't know why Dick thought it was so hard.

She almost laughs at the absurdity of it, at the thought that he could ever be anything less than what she wanted. There was nothing she could imagine that would make him anything less than in her eyes. Nothing that could make her long for anything else. And it killed her that he couldn't see that. "How's never sound? Cause, telling ya now, feels like I learn something new about you every day and I 'm kinda loving all of it. And, I'm not talking just the...you know....kinky freaky, I'm talking about how I love watching you stumble around before you have coffee and your seriosu codependancy with you're dog. You stopped being a novelty a long time ago.

If he were a smarter man, maybe he would turn on the charm that had ser ved him so well for a millinia, maybe compliment her, or at leqast offer a grin in her general direction. But he was not a God of sanity. "I have yet to find anything the two of us have in common, but if you have, please , enlighten me so I can change my behavior."

"I mean, I've literally madce out with everyone I consider a frriend at least once so I'm probably not exactly the best person to ask....." Roy's brow furrowed. "Dick....you do remember we're married, right? Pretty sure we left the "friend" thing behind a long time ago. So....you can make-out with me anytime you want."

"You should." His voice is steel as he raises the lightsaber and prepares to strike.
