Filmed in Toronto, Canada.
Also known as Ready or Not: Here I Come.
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett had a recent interview where they revealed that the story "goes hand in hand with the first in an unexpected yet seamless way." Adding... "itâs exciting to see Grace into a new fucked up situation that deepens her story and her character, and we wanted to make sure that this movie wasnât just more of the same. We put a ton of love into this movie to make it a worthy sequel that weâre hoping fans of the first movie â and people who are getting to know Grace for the first time â will really love." (12/1/25)
Actor Elijah Wood spoke briefly about the movie, revealing some new details including the fact that it apparently takes place immediately after the end of the first movie. Here's what he had to say: "What I love about this sequel is that it really deepens that mythology, so Iâm stoked for people to see it. Itâs a movie that takes place almost immediately after the first one ends and enriches everything you love about the original film." (8/29/25)
One of the film's producers spoke about the sequel in a recent interview, detailing why they decided to finally pursue a sequel, saying: "There are a couple of different ways we are doing it. I donât want to give anything away. Itâs so early, and there is so little out there. What I will say is one of the reasons it has taken a minute to make this sequel was that we were really hard on ourselves on not just repeating what the first movie was, but also, not losing the sauce of what the first movie was. Itâs interesting because thereâs a debate all the way through as to what is real and what is not. That is answered at the end of the first movie, so you canât put that Le Bail back in the bottle. What Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy do in this script is incredibly smart. As soon as they pitched it, it was, âOf course thatâs what it is. Thatâs a great idea.â Itâs such a great way to tell this story. I am so excited for people to see it."
He goes on to reveal a bit on what fans can expect from the movie, saying:Â "I think itâs safe to say we expand the mythology without explaining the entire mythology. I donât know if that sounds exciting, but itâs exciting to us. I think itâs the right amount of worldbuilding, while still telling an amazing emotional story. We felt so privileged that people embraced that movie, that we didnât want to revisit it if it was going to kinda be like, âOh, look. They did it again.â We were all okay leaving it be if we didnât come up with something that we felt added to it, or in some ways, topped it. We are all really excited about what it is going to be."Â (5/28/25)
Previous co-director Tyler Gillett spoke about the project recently, saying: "It's getting figured out. That's what we'll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute fucking banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it's happening. That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways." Adding... "I don't think we knew after making it that there would be so much story left to tell. We're so proud of what that first movie is, we're so proud of what the sequel is. We're just really excited, and fingers crossed that it gets made." (4/15/24)
Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan, Insidious: The Last Key) is reportedly directing.
Star Samara Weaving is said to be returning.
Scripted once again by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.
This is a sequel to 2019's Ready or Not from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and producer Chad Villella AKA "Radio Silence," which they've reportedly been working on since the release of the first movie.
