blood stained the ethereal pink of her dress, the dark ichor of her unnatural life force almost black in nature, as unholy as she was. the castle was quiet, still — more tomb than home, and the last bride had come here to die.

her legs no longer worked, the blast of shells dipped in holy water had found their mark, tearing a hole in her that you could fit both fists through. she was leaving a trail of her unlife behind her, dragging herself with failing hands. blood coated her chin and neck, bright against her pale skin. she looked weak, small.
