I'm very seriously considering moving completely to pillowfort. I know it's not for everyone, and it's not the same as Tumblr, but frankly I've realized I don't want Tumblr, just the friends and acquaintances I've made here.

I don't like talking about heavy stuff much, but you may have noticed from a few distressed posts that I've been getting harassed recently, and overall Tumblr just hasn't been good for my mental. I feel obligated to contribute to certain communities and that if I don't I'm a failure or don't belong, I feel like I have to walk on eggshells and be careful about every word and phrase that comes out of my mouth or I'll be harassed for it. I came here originally for free speech, because I can swear and reclaim slurs and make sex jokes and even learn about sex without repercussions. But now it doesn't feel the same anymore, instead of free speech I feel like it's just a noose of obligation and expected minced words. I'm done with that.

The decision isn't final yet, but as stated I'm very seriously considering leaving. I think I'll be much happier if I do so, but I don't want to leave behind anyone I know that would want to join me, so I'm taking it slow. I'm also gonna have to find a place to archive everything I don't want to lose, but that's a topic for another time

I'm on pillowfort often, you can find me there with the same handle. It's so much less toxic there, more laid back and slow, there's LOTS of long text posts and in general encouragement to read a lot and use/make your own site.
