when it was revealed that agravaine was a traitor, arthur asked merlin if he, merlin, knew that. in response, merlin, who had tried so hard to tell arthur (only to be treated absolutely horribly in return), didn’t say “i told you so,” or “yes, obviously i knew,” or anything that would make arthur feel worse. he just said that he suspected it. because arthur was already so hurt and merlin just wanted him to be okay. could you ever love anybody that much? insane.

Not to be the fun police but some of y’all have read so much fanfic and come up with so many headcanons that you’ve forgotten the actual canonical material of the character and perceive anyone not aligning with your vision as a slight against whatever identities you’ve added to them. Like that one person calling Remmick queer as to why ppl hyper focus on him over the majority Black cast of Sinners (2025) is a prime example. Like, it’s fine to play with a character and come up with stuff for them but when discussing them with others, understand that not everyone is in your head and has the same take on them. And even if they do, the actual characterization of the character(s) and plot lines is how one should base a discussion of it should it arise. Because if you’re just making up stuff at a certain point you’re not actually engaging with the material you claim to like.
