“Hours Turn Sour”

The bliss we miss

Was never intended

But when we reminisce

My mind is on the Hubble

And in here we flip a coin

To determine the inevitable

Yet we keep going in to The Sun

Until it burns past our bones

So there’s nothing left to pick

Not even a misspelled word

It’s too hot in here

But it’s not too sunny

Yet I’ll stay working right here

Some thoughts are rushed

because we can’t live in them,

but there’s a window

I constantly look into

that keeps me

I made it to Heaven’s gate

And I’m excited to meet my fate

But all the shadows on the floor

From all the way over here

You shouldn’t even matter

But I’m sitting on Saturn

I haven’t written anything

You haven’t already read

But I know the deep feeling

I often go

Where nobody goes

But I’m noticing these foot prints

Wisdom hits me

And I’m colorblind

But I remember you

Your happy thoughts

Could darken any sin

But this is my graveyard

You’re glad I’m mad

In a mismatched plaid

And that’s my bad
