The nights before |Vimber
âNooo, donât wake up because of m-â Sheâd been speaking over Viv, and that question had Amberâs mind going in a different direction mid-word. âYou have no idea how tempting that is.â She smirked, but only for a second before it was taken over by worry. Her look towards the door told exactly where her thoughts had went.
Having sex in her parentsâ house was risky as it was. Doing so in the morning when someone in her family could easily wake was pushing it. Her parents both worked, even this close to Christmas, and were scheduled to wake early. Amber looked back to Viv, biting her lip. As tempting as sex was, sheâd be too caught up with anxiety to actually enjoy it.
âMy parents will be up soon,â she explained apologetically. âAnd I donât know how well last nightâs silencing spell is holding. It could have worn off by now.â It was hard to make those things last. She knew because they did, in fact, have one room in the house that was permanently under silencing charms.
It seemed that in just a very short amount of time, her mood had deflated. âI should let you get back to sleep,â Amber spoke. Her voice was now a near-whisper in case her predictions about her silencing charms were true. As much as she was loathe to, she pulled away from Viv and sat up in the cold air.
âNo, itâs okay. Â Iâm up now. Â Besides, it just means that I get more time with you. Â Youâre buying though,â Viv teased, words muffled by Amberâs shoulder. Â Honestly, she couldnât even be upset that she was losing out on sleep; waking up to Amber like this was worth it. Â Opening her eyes to find herself curled around her, limbs entwined in ways only someone used to sharing a bed with her could be - it was one of the best feelings. Â
Of course, it had its downsides, too. Â Viv could immediately tell when Amberâs body tensed and she knew sheâd done something wrong. Â âI was kidding - mostly,â she said, letting Amber get up and missing her warmth immediately. Â This had been the hardest part of her mornings the past couple of days - letting Amber go back to her room instead of lounging around in bed for a little while. Â
âIâm not going back to sleep! Â I was promised coffee,â Viv said indignantly. Â Sheâd felt the shift in mood and she wanted to keep things light, to put a smile back on Amberâs face. Â Viv had been the one to burst their happy little morning bubble in the first place - the least she could do was stay awake to help bring back Amberâs good mood.
