summary: heart-shaped patch is a live-tweeted project created by myself and my qpp (@kitty-lattee) in early july of 2023. this story stars three main characters; giovanni and matteo lupo, and mark nadeau. matteo and giovanni are played by myself, and mark is played by goose.

characters:

GIOVANNI LUPO (he/him) is a 24 year old alpha male. and if you're on tumblr, i doubt i have to explain what that means. he's a very typical alpha, violent and crude. he also happens to have an issue with alcoholism, which makes his outbursts even worse. in his childhood, giovanni's dad left the family. this led gio to attach to his mother (also an alpha, her name is isabella) further and adopt her bigoted ideals against omegas and betas. which leads us to...

MARK NADEAU (he/she), a 26 (as of september 7th 2023) year old beta gnc transfem. mark is a french-canadian who moved to giovanni's hometown in the state of georgia for college after a family tragedy. the two met at a local church and started dating shortly after. mark is a gentle person, in deep juxtaposition to giovanni's bold and erratic behavior. she takes care of a cat named cassie, a stray he found one day.

MATTEO LUPO (he/him) is a 29 year old omega male. he is giovanni's older brother, and unfortunately the least favorite in their mother's eyes. shortly after turning 24, he moved away from his hometown and went about 2 counties away from the rest of the lupos, cutting contact with them altogether for the bigoted views they display. nowadays, he works in an office and is in a long-distance relationship with ezra becker, who lives in boston.

story:

everything starts when thomas coinin, ex-husband to isabella lupo, leaves the lupo family for good. the change is swift and impulsive, and destroys the lupos forever. the younger brother, giovanni, despises his father for this change. how could he leave like that? he grew closer to isabella to cope with the change. matteo, however, understood his father's decision. he knows what isabella is like, and she's a very prejudiced woman. matteo would distance himself from his mother and giovanni, eventually cutting them off.

meanwhile, mark nadeau returns home to find his entire family gone. their lives were taken by a serial killer. this leads her to a very deep depression, and he impulsively moves to georgia for college, and for some change. in the new state, she meets a 19 year old giovanni lupo.

at the time, giovanni seemed to be a nice guy. he offered mark a home, somewhere to stay while the two went through college together. the two started dating shortly after. an important detail to note is that giovanni was under the impression that mark was an omega. this is why isabella approved of their relationship.

however, one day giovanni noticed something. the two had been together for a few months, and not once had mark gone through a heat. heat suppressants were uncommon and expensive, something that mark couldn't afford without giving up the necessities. he confronts mark about this, only to be greeted with the fact that mark is a beta.

giovanni had spent his entire life hating betas. it's all he's ever been taught. and now his boyfriend is one? he felt enraged. angry. disgusted. nonetheless, giovanni was to protect mark from his mother. she wouldn't know for another few years.

those few years passed, bringing us to the present. mark and giovanni's relationship grew abusive on giovanni's part. he began to be violent towards him, his alcoholism only making his rage worse.
