hi everyone, this disability pride month, please dont forget about disabled people who dont have a diagnosis for one reason or another.

dont forget about disabled people who were refused a diagnosis by doctors.

dont forget about disabled people who were misdiagnosed maliciously or by accident and thus cant get the proper help they need, or who were hurt even worse for it.

dont forget about disabled people who choose not to get a diagnosis, because a proper diagnosis on paper will do more harm than good in their area.

dont forget about disabled people who cant afford to get a diagnosis, period.

dont forget about disabled people who are not allowed to get a diagnosis by the people around them or by their caretakers.

dont forget about disabled women or black disabled people who are ignored, misdiagnosed, or who are forced through hoops all for nothing due to medical misogyny and racism.

theres a lot more of us out there than the statistics say, and thats through nobodies fault but the failure of the system to help us. it is NOT their fault that doctors and medicine really, really hate having to actually help us.

#ik its the 4th so im late to the start of july but ive been thinking abt it #disability pride month #kitkat chitchat #sincerely someone who IS diagnosed but Not for Everything #ive got some diagnosises. ive got enough that i can point at them and go Hey i need some help here #but i dont actually have everything ive been TOLD im meant to have written down. mostly in the mental health area but it happened #with some of my physical issues as well so im counting it for the sake of example LMAO #this is initially due to medical neglect as a teen but nowadays i dont strive for a diagnosis #because ive weighed the pros and cons and decided the cons of having a disability on record #outweigh the pros of any accomodations it could offer me. that and im american that shits expensive #this is to Me Specifically. peoples baseline for what theyre able to endure is different #and you should not judge people for if they do or do not. bc sometimes yeah the ableism sucks but they NEED those accomodations #more than ever and cant exist without them and that is more than okay because their ability to LIVE comes first and foremost.#regardless of what someone chooses to do - or regardless of what someone is ABLE to do and ALLOWED to do - we should respect them #we NEED to include people who are disabled but undiagnosed / or have 'invisible' disabilities in our discussions #theyre a vulnerable part of the community due to not being believed by EITHER side #and thats not their fault. thats the fault of the society around us built to be and thrive off of ableism.#either youre too disabled to be human in the eyes of society or youre not disabled enough to count and should stop lying #hi. can you tell im an angry disabled man. im going to start hitting people with my cane aggressively if they dont start respecting people
