Inside Under the Page
About me and my goal
When it comes to young adult fiction books, who knows them better than a young adult themself? Young adult books are adored by many of all ages but are often reviewed online by those over the age of 25, which is not classified as young adult (12-18). It can be a struggle to find book reviews done by an actual young adult; however, this blog does help with that.
I (Under the Page) am a 16 year old who is an avid reader and enjoys sharing my thoughts and questions on books. Having an actual young adult reviewing books made for people in their age range can help other young adults find out how good the book is and what it is about.
I have been reading since I was four years old and has always found books as a means of escape from life. My favorite book series growing up was The Magic Treehouse because of how much he always wanted to be there, escaping into the world of books. I got the blog name Under the Page as a play on the phrase “under the sea” as I also enjoy marine biology quite a bit, and it is one of my many hobbies outside of reading.
Like other book bloggers such as The Orangutan Librarian and Everyday Reading I will focus content on book recommendations and reviews, but unlike those two I will create content relating to book fandoms and local authors. My goal is to work to promote positivity and shed a new light on reading.
As more and more teenages stop reading, I want to get more teenagers to read and enjoy books. A study done by the American Psychological Association in 2018, reported less than 20% of teenagers report reading books or magazines daily and I want to promote reading and bring those numbers up.
In conclusion, Under the Page is a blog by teenagers for teenagers to promote reading and personal growth. There is a lot to cover in the world that lies in the depths of your local library, or even right at your very own fingertips. This blog will help you learn and explore books and reading again.
