Underground Genetic Laboratory

We have decided to deviate which, in fact, means that we submit stuff to DeviantArt. You can find some frames without captions and bubbles and... (What do you even need those for? Anyway, they are there, enjoy, etc etc)

At first, we wanted to make pages. But, as you already know, we've been running a very dangerous time experiment that changed everything. Before things went weird, we've been working on the page 1 frames. In order to follow the JJ's original style we thought bichrome. Then, as the first frame was to become a somewhat beautiful panorama of Horsia, we've accidentally stepped a little away from the original style, turning scenery from a heap of paint (a very well thought-out heap of paint, indeed) to something more precise. The first attempt looked extremely promising:

Drunk with success (and with a recent brew of genetically modified beer) unit #001 remade the castle from scratch, which resulted in the one you can see on frame #1. He then added the rest of the view and painted it all by himself, good job there, lad, good job. The fight was hard and epic, but we kind of hope it was for the best. So... pay some attention to the first frame. It's beautiful. Really.

The first version of the plotline consisted of technically skipping three months and then showing a scene depicting the princess entering her TOP SECRET room and then regenerating just like Doctor Who. Somewhere at this point of plotting John Joseco launched a Gamer Luna blog and we haven't managed to fix the issue with Molly NOT changing her face so Unit #000 threw the old plotline away (nobody actually needs more than one Gamer Luna, especially when that's the original one). A new plotline had to be made. A new world, perhaps.

...The party started their work with some research into the cause of the disappearance of Molestia. They didn't confirm any of their theories, but, keeping them all in mind they had to do something to prevent the copyright issues (outsiders tell big corporations are famous for spending their money on useless stuff like searching for underground laboratories supposedly violating their author's rights or something). The decision was made to go even further into parody, stripping off more and more elements of the original. And that is how a concept of Horsia appeared (The name 'Horsia', obviously, was meant to play on the simplicity and morphology of 'Equestria'). A whole different universe, somewhat similar to the original one to keep in touch. Characters and events altered. A plotline was born to introduce the princess to the new world and to merge her in it.

Since we were getting a princess of the Sun into our newborn reality, we'd decided to make Horsia a world without one so Molestia effectively takes the place. The story was to be altered so the 'different-Luna' was the only princess, and thus, since she's the princess of the Moon and there was never any of the Sun, Horsia would be a kingdom of eternal night.

Once upon a time, there was a neat lovely John Joseco's Ask Princess Molestia blog. For reasons unknown, it died. Sad.

The death of a character which inspired unit #000 shook the whole lab. His right buttock had warmed up so much it triggered the fire alarm and some experiments escaped out in the world only to get shot by the turrets. Sad.

Unit #000 called upon the rest of the UGL. The desire to keep the life of the one he adored was the same as if his girlfriend or liver was going to die. He gave out an order to gather everyone who knows how to draw in his office. Those turned out to be unit #001 and unit #042. They held a meeting at which it was decided to push their skills to the limits and form a resurrection party. The party at first consisted of unit #000 at plotting and design, unit #042 at sketches and unit #001 at digitalizing and painting. However, unit #042 soon left. Sad.

Unit #000 and unit #001 began the work with unit #001 doing all the drawing job and unit #000 coming up with the concepts and advices. He wasn't that great, though:

It didn't stop the team and soon they began the work on frame one.

The Underground Genetic Laboratory is literally what it is. It's somewhere below ground, it is a lab, and it does genetics.

Why the blog?

The bunch of scientists working on making the future real by creating doomsday device mutants and abusing all nature in living beings need rest. But, according to unit #000, "the best kind of rest is to work on something else". Creativity keeps your juices flowing.

The side-projects of the staff members are not as secret as what we mainly do, thus, we want to share them with you, dear visitors, in a set of blogs.
