Undercurrent is a zine about Kansas City, that was published twice yearly. Issue #1 was released in July of 2013 and features 60 pages jam-packed with great content from people living and working in KC. Cover for print edition was designed by artist Kelsey Wroten and limited edition screenprinted copies printed by La Cucaracha Press.

We received this letter from the Kansas City chapter of the Autism Self Advocacy Network in support of the Autistic child that was raped by her peers, repeatedly. Undercurrent #2 Now Available for Pre-Order!
The second issue of Undercurrent is about to be released!
This issue features an article about the Kansas City filmmakers community, a vintage article about community healthcare from the Westport Trucker, news from DIY collectives in the area, poetry, art, and much more! Copies will be ready in another week, and we are now taking pre-orders.
For this issue we are offering a special supporter’s package to help fund the printing of free copies. This supporter’s package will include a first edition copy of Undercurrent #2 with an original limited edition hand-printed cover. We’ll also include a selection of zines and other materials donated by various DIY artists in the Kansas City area.
The special supporter’s package will cost $5 + $2 for shipping and packaging. This price pays for the printing of the zines, as well as free copies to be distributed over the next few months.
Only 25 of these limited edition packages will be available. After these sell out, there will be no more hand-printed copies left. We suggest that you preorder and reserve a copy now before we run out!

For more submission ideas, visit our website at http://undercurrentkc.tumblr.com/submissionguidelines Additional Guidelines: --Fully designed pieces must fit on half-letter sheet, 8.5 X 5.5 dimension. Full-page or odd-sized submissions will be reduced or altered to fit the page. --The final zine will be printed in black and white so we strongly encourage contributors to take this into account. --All contributors will include a free xeroxed copy of the zine and will have a mini-biography published in the zine. --All submissions must be by a former or current resident of Kansas City. Some acceptations might apply. --A small number of submissions not related to Kansas City will be accepted in each issue, but the majority of the content should relate to Kansas City in some way.
