I'm writing a thing right now that involves the exploration the various non-romantic relationship dynamics between people, and the main focus are these 2 girls who become very close platonic friends, and it's like, extremely relevant to the plot that their relationship is platonic. I'm on the brink of quitting this project entirely because everytime I discuss their relationship with other people, there's a 9 out of 10 chance that the other person is like "Oh they aren't yuri? That's sad." "I know you said they're just friends but I still ship them." I even got a "WLW relationships don't get enough rep so it's kind of homophobic that you're refusing to acknowledge that they're really WLW-coded" It's driving me nuts!!!!! Most of these people know that I'm aromantic and they still choose to act like this, so I don't even want to think about what's gonna happen if people I don't know read it if I ever finish and publish it.
