The angel knew that tensions were high around the city, so finding himself with a hand around his neck wasnât all that surprising. Maybe he should have been more worried, but the master had seen his share of wars and uprisings to know just how this one would end. As it was with everything else, they just had to find the head of the operation and cut it. Problem solved. Â
âYou canât really blame me for wanting my hands on you, Amabilia.â Just like Samael to try to lighten the tension in the worst way possible. She was lovely, that was for sure, but pointing that out when she had just seen him as an attacker, maybe not the best idea. Still, he couldnât or would help himselfÂ
âCan you?â the wolfish grin that follow an indication that he was only partly joking. Â
Raj wasnât as confident in the cityâs future as she had been in the past. The continous screw ups on the councils part did not inspire confidence or reassurance and she was tempted to go to the city alpha when this was all over and done with to voice her concerns. The rumor was he was a pretty personable guy, someone most referred to as easy to talk to.Â
While she didnât know a quack of latin, Raj could guess what the word meant. Had the circumstances been different she might have been flattered or even flirted back. But the timing was all off. âWhile I appreciate the sentiment, now is hardly the time.â she replied with a slight head shake, though if anything he had gotten her to ease up a bit. When he pressed on, she could not help but good naturedly roll her eyes. âOh come on. It canât be a confidence kicker to be blindsided by a woman? Really?âÂ
