Saul wasn’t stupid, he knew that Farah had changed. But she had also died and come back from the dead; it would be strange if she hadn’t come back changed in some way. It was also true, however, that her death had driven him right into madness. Not a day had passed when he hadn’t tried to bring her back with a blood ritual. Ben had voiced his concerns before but he could not be helped.

And now she was back.

The moment she approached him, his eyes were on her, taking her all in. A shiver ran down his spine as she cupped his face. How could this not be their Farah when she felt the same? “I know. I told him the same.” He reached out then, taking her hand in his. “He also said you don’t care about me, that you’re only manipulating me. I know you would never do that.”

No, Farah would never do this to him, would never take advantage of him like that. Rosalind must have twisted Ben’s mind, he had no other explanation for this.

"Did he now?" Hazel eyes remain locked with Saul's blue, barely batting at this revelation. "Well, it hurts to know that after all these years he thinks so little of me." Of course what she really felt wasn't pain, but annoyance. Ben really would have to be taken care of-personally. As much as part of her would like to test Saul's loyalty, she didn't quite trust him with this.

"But I'm glad you know better." Farah kissed him first on the corner of his mouth and then full on. "It would be terribly cruel of you to bring me back only to break my heart by believing him."
