“He’s still so tiny, Tommy. I just feel like I’m going to break him. But god forbid anyone else try, you know?” Wren had never had siblings, and after everything she’d been through she’d felt very hardened and tough. Every so often, the softness she felt with Avery’s son made her feel took her by surprise. In her mind, the only person who’d get that was Tommy, who’d been through that shit with her.

There wasn’t enough time in Hayden’s life for stuff like this, and maybe he should coach some sort of SOCCER team. He considers it as he kicks the ball back to Wren. “How long have you been playing?” It was small talk, but he was actually interested in hearing the answer to that one.
Wren shrugs. “I played a lot when I was a kid. Loved it. I had to stop for a while though. Picked it up again about a year ago.” They’d felt for a while like they couldn’t have that kind of thing back in their life. Proving themself wrong had been enlightening.

“I was actually just wondering if you wanted someone else to play with.” Hayden asks pointing to the soccer ball. He had been a star growing up from being just a kid up through college. He gave it all up for a career with SHIELD. “I’m pretty good actually if you wanted some friendly competition or someone to train with.” He offers since truly it would just be nice to play again in any form.
Wren is caught off guard for a moment when the young man simply points to the soccer ball and offers to train with her. It was so benign. She huffs a laugh and drops the ball to her feet. “Sure. That’d be good actually.” She kicks the ball to him.
I don’t think I’ve been this exhausted in, like, almost two years. I’m existing solely on coffee and the fact that a toddler wakes me up almost every morning at 6. Clutching said coffee in one hand like a lifeline, Peach’s lead in the other, Avery had all but sprinted out the door when his mother offered to watch Cody for the day. He loves his son, really he does, but in his own opinion, he’s more than earned this exhaustion.
“You look like crap. No offense but, you need to sleep for like... a month.” Before finding Logan, Wren had never had siblings. It had been... intimidating to say the least. But she adored Cody. She’d do anything to protect that little boy from harm. “Also Peach wants to go off lead.”

miikahs:
A sharp click/pop noise is all Mikah gives in response. Oh-kay, then. She throws her hands up a bit, palms out. “Easy, tiger. Can’t walk around with shit like that and expect no one to notice.” Not that she’d know from experience. Very few injuries she ever sustained scarred, and those were only the really nasty ones, the sort that took even her mutation some time to repair. “ ‘sides, I might not ‘a even said anything.”
Wren rolls their eyes. “Doesn’t mean you have to stare.” They tug the shirt down again, making sure their back is covered. “Might,” they scoff. “Right. Great.” They know that they could be quick to jump to conclusions, but sometimes it was hard not to.
It had taken a long time for Wren to feel any semblance of normalcy, and she tended to be rather standoffish any time that people made her feel otherwise. Especially if she didn’t know the person particularly well. Bending over to pick up the soccer ball, her shirt slipped up her back, revealing part of a nasty scar. Wren didn’t even notice until she looked up and caught someone staring.
Her expression hardened into a glare. “What?” she snapped.
