“I'm glad everyone is enjoying themselves...?” He has a headache from all of this. Bye.
∞ me boy....
my son...
Send an ∞ if you like how I play my character.
Despite having been on the island for roughly a week now, this was only the first time the two have spoken to each other. She had taken note of Sal’s peculiar origins as a creature of the sea upon first arrival, but other than that, she had paid him no mind. And now here he was, addressing her as casually as a long-term friend would.
She doesn’t like that.
There’s no eye contact made when her reply came, her gaze instead transfixed on the murder weapons - in their carefully sealed and labeled bags - that she began to neatly lay out on the provided desk. “And you would be Sal, if I remember correctly.” Other than that, it was silence. There was only a limited amount of time before the trials for these murders, and socialization could always come after the cases have been closed.
His eyes flicker over the array of evidence he'd retrieved and accordingly brought back, observing as opposed to answering the response for a moment. Nervousness within him existed and it would turn its small but sturdy gears in the anatomy of his stomach, but he has his enzymes to suppress and ignore and be anything but.
“Yeah! Well, that's my nickname, anyway.” He leans forward some to take more observation for himself of the objects his roommates has collected. “Do you need any help with any of that...?”

And he's just watching his roommate come back from the war collecting all of his evidence. Normally he wouldn't bother, but he seems to be on the case. Sal doesn't like that.
“Oh, Naoto, right?” he begins as soon as the other walks back into the room, carrying whatever he'd collected for the day. He's cheerful. “You must be working really hard, getting back this late...”
Unfortunately, for Ms. "Mirai",
he's not actually drinking the toilet water. As if.

Solitude ♦ Open
The girl’s golden orbs shifted up and down the other’s presence, attempting to somehow, on a first glance, decide whether or not they were a possible threat. Of course it was impossible to know that based on looking upon them for no more than few moments, but Mirai herself had put up a facade some time ago in her life. Although some of those memories were still fuzzy, she hoped that if she met another hiding behind a mask, she’d be able to decode it. She had to watch who she grew close to. Hearing about the horrors that took place on the Island, it’d be foolish not to keep a guard up.
And Mirai was foolish. She nearly fell asleep on a bench in an empty park. Anyone walking by could have easily attacked her. It was unbelievable to her how stupid she had been. Thankfully, however, someone had arrived and startled her enough to wake her. She almost thought it’d be the right thing to do to thank them. An index finger rose up to her glasses, pushing them up the bridge of her nose ever so slightly. After getting a better look of the stranger, she could hardly believe her eyes.
From what she could gather, the person standing in front of her was not human — Not fully, anyway. His hair was as white as snow with a fin-like appendage coming from the top of his head to match. She quickly caught herself before staring too long. That would more than likely come off as rude, and offending people here was the last thing she wanted to do. She gave him a nervous smile before finally responding.
"I apologize as well. I didn’t mean to startle anyone." Mirai moved her legs off the bench as she spoke, gently patting the empty space next to her. "Y—You can sit if you’d like. I didn’t mean to take up the entire seat. Unless you’re heading elsewhere, that is." Her soft voice trailed off, glancing away for an instant. She really wasn’t very good at making conversation with strangers.
His claw twitches every so slightly as he brings himself into the trap of thoughts again. This one forces him gently into visualizations of what he could accomplish, here and now. If he so wished, he could show the definition of expressions such as every rose has its thorn, dig his limbs of knives into the inviting flesh of her neck or stomach or anywhere else if he so pleased, and it'd be perfect, the adoration of blood and killing and all death and despair to float into his nostrils without any effort from either parties whatsoever, and Sal's back would shiver as he would remember: this is what the beauty of death is.
But there was too much for punishment for such a thing, which was definitely beyond his comprehension; the bear who stood at the top of all of their skulls, his hind paws digging into the thin slices of their hairs, would, with his amplified voice to boom over all of them, force them all into his system of murdering, only to make it mutual as he so wished. Truly a wonderful idea ― but if he so desired such a thing as well, agreeing with his ideals which others would unanimously view as absolutely, haha, sickening, then he could not understand why he would be struck with the lightning of consequence as well.
He was mysterious in not simply that way, but also several, much more, and with the dilation of his pupils he could murmur to himself, if he were so alone, he hates mysterious.
He was always willing to take chances. Emerge a victor from the uneducated judgements of his peers, and the liquid collection of blood will spill easily from his hand as he felt the marrow of his humerus, radius and ulna all be replenished with the delights of his abilities, even if but a small amount of dye cast within his vessels. And it was tempting so, the nerves implemented within the inner workings of each of his frontal teeth aching as they wished for him to take such a gamble as he had so many times before in his span of existence even if he could not recall so. But he was of a sharp mind and he would never allow himself to succumb to such a thing, as if he were to be found in failure and slain... Yes, everything would be ruined.
And so the girl faces such an initial genuine, kind smile, his tone truthfully light. All honesty.
He notes that the girl is formally polite (not to be two separate terms but one trait altogether as they must always go hand in hand), but meanwhile shy. He merely shakes his head and simply leans against the lamppost that was placed appropriately near his body. “Haha, no, that's okay.” And his expression morphs.
“You're so nice, though. You really should be more careful.”

His thorns will tap upon, briefly, the surface of the glitter which shines to the very corner of his eye, as if to unnecessarily test its materialism, before the digits will come to wrap around it and bury it into the silk escapes of his suit pockets. He subtly knew of their use: The store, which stood oddly isolated compared to other buildings, but it was an irrelevant detail and therefore he would not give his mind to it. Day and day each they stack upon each other, a collapsing tower of both fake gold and poor architectural design alike, and they are slightly more than his handful on this day in which he observes the entire clan of them in the evening light of his room's window.
They had a designated purpose, and, well, Sal was not one to waste such things.
The oarfish, on the evenings in which the water flowed beautifully and friendly wrapped itself around all the creatures of the cyan sea, would, with children's crayons, conjure a smile that reminded his fake heart further of berries, and say her melody of suggestion to go shopping. Naturally, her returning present was to be the same action and agreement. Sure, Tatsumiya. Whatever you want to do, Tatsumiya. Oh, Tatsumiya, you look really good in that. Tatsumiya, thanks for the day. I'll see you tomorrow, Tatsumiya.
Toxin. Pure poisonous substance to bubble and fizz and foam within his heart valves and overflow the blood, bursting his arteries and veins, and seep out into his existing organs, lungs, stomach, intestines, then feed eagerly at the marrow of his bones. Never on his skin, his face, would be even the slightest signal of such things to be occurring within him, however ― and at all, complete contrast, with his gleeful smile and lighthearted, truthful words. Moment within moment and day upon day, all of it became easier to bear and mask until such a facade he had mistaken for himself every so often. He knew who he was, though. He was not the person who smiled at Tatsumiya, underneath his gills. He was not the person who showed honest concern for anyone in particular, beneath the layers of dermal denticles. Certainly, it was all adaption. He would always learn quickly ―
though the art of shopping was never something to ever be truly digested by his biological systems, no matter how much the woman who bore her antennae naturally would show him example after example. It didn't matter, though. It was useless.
Sal does not make storage within himself for the useless.
Pure chance, as he dully observes the array of items available upon the shelves of the store. Fortune has taken her lithe, gorgeous hand, not unlike that of a young queen's, and gently pressed her glistening fingertips directly upon his forehead, and released her golden magic upon him. He does not know if she'd be so graciously willing to grant such a blessing upon him in the future, but here, now, he must appreciate and find himself succumbed to it all. He does not let himself become drunk to the ecstasy the realization of granted wishes brings, as he knows that would simply taint the current situation as a whole and it would all be ripped from his eager, eager, twitching, clenching hands.
To say there is thought in his actions is a mistake (though not to the extent of this pathetic creature's existence!). He grabs the nearest item, a plastic water gun, briefly appreciating its factory details, and... He throws it. Right at the back of his head.
Welcome to Hope's Peak... Samekichi. He truly hopes you enjoy his gift.

Solitude ♦ Open
—A cool, calm breeze swept by the petite girl as she sat alone on a bench in the park. It was a beautiful day, and Mirai didn’t want to spend it locked away in her room. She knew it would be be best for her to get to know her surroundings. Besides, a little fresh air never hurt.
Her body shifted as she sat, adjusting herself to where she could lay back on the bench. Her golden eyes focused on the sky above, attempting to get her thoughts together. Memories were distant and fuzzy, and she couldn’t help but feel off. Mirai let out a small huff, her eyelids closing as she subconsciously messed with the ring on her pinky.
She could feel her thoughts drifting away, nearly falling asleep when she began to hear distant footsteps. She paid them no mind, though before she knew it, they came to a halt far too close for comfort. She began to slowly open her eyes, hoping she was imagining it. Sadly for her, someone was there. Although she expected it, it still startled her, causing her to shoot up from her laying position. She quickly pushed herself to the opposite edge of the bench, nearly falling off.
Mirai sat there in silence for a moment before smiling at the stranger nervously. “Ah… You startled me.”
For blue to surround him was many years of his existence and he would become disgusted, finding such frustration within him in his early days of absorbing through his gills of disguise the water and oxygen that was pure, far too pure, one that he simply fiercely desired to touch his claw to and taint it with the wonderfulness of the blood of the miniscule creatures that stood with him at the same moments in which he thought of such things they'd find so horrid, but him, wonderful. He'd begrudgingly intoxicate himself for the superior good ― or, truly, evil, and that thought as well must delight him a bring a small bubble of chuckling to the surface of his lips and the atmosphere around him.
And such so was the exact same here, though he did face a disability of semi-paralysis, which presented itself so as memory loss. A thick haze he could only delicately put soft marks in its exterior one day at a time, and which was truly a tedious task. It caused him the same disgust he hadn't yet learned to repress in his early days of fooling the great blue sea, but especially now, Sal was one who learned swiftly and would be praised for it by others if they noticed so and approved. But he needed not such a thing. It was trivial.
He does come to the realization in a period of time (which is not as short as he would have so preferred but better late than never, after all) that if amnesia was such the case, the best manual self-remedy was to find anything which may serve as the perfect ingredients to ultimate recollection of all he had ever known, experienced, and felt, and that was truly a wondrous thing. In this instant as he acts upon this realization, for the first time, he does not intend to walk close to any other being, his attention carefully carved upon the details of the world which surrounded him in an unconsciously inviting matter, and it is only her jump of shock that he does witness out the corner of his eye that puts pupils in the direction of elsewhere where another person would so happen to exist.
“Oh, I'm sorry...! I could say the same to you!” He has no hopes that his tone is convincing as he already has mature knowledge that it is so, but yes, in the end, it is all... a ploy.
