Sans was confused for a moment, up until Lust started shifting. He was dazed by the flow of emotions that had been engulfing him, that when the panic rose above all else, he became tense, suddenly. Hadn’t Lust wanted this as well?
“Wait, Lust, calm–” He let out a strangled noise, eye lights going out from his sockets, at how the connected was severed, though not fully. It was painful, and Stars above, it had nearly dusted him at the sudden pain and emptiness he felt. His hand went to his SOUL, grasping it and holding it close to himself, shaking.
He couldn’t muster any strength to look at Lust. He was panting, his breathing labored. His mind racing quickly, as he could still feel it, the small twinge of lingering connection his SOUL desperately clung to.
“I c-can’t..” He wheezed, tears pricking into his eye sockets. Swallowing thickly, he managed to look at Lust with pain, his left eye starting to glow a soft blue, as he activated his magic. He couldn’t stay here, he couldn’t.
It hurt so much. Everything came crashing out on him, and without warning, and without taking Lust with him, Sans teleported himself out of the other’s home, and timeline.
The only thing that echoed out as he left was the painful cry of a heartbroken skeleton.
"Sans- wait-!!" He had felt it. Oh boy, had he felt it. There was still that lingering sensation of their bond, and he knew exactly what the other was feeling.
Using him? No..! He wasn’t!
Lust would never have...
He wouldn’t, right? He wasn’t just some selfish, greedy monster who only wanted what was his name sake. But then again, how would he know...? In such a disgusting world, how could he be any different then everyone else? How could he had expected Sans to think any different of him...?
He was sick. He was disgusting. He never felt so ashamed of himself, and he didn’t even try to run after Sans, simply curling up onto his side with stuttering breaths. He cried-- he fucking wailed. He couldn’t understand the itchy, crawly feeling running all over his bones, but he knew why it was happening. Why did he have to be this way...? Why couldn’t he let himself be happy...?
