I've always headcanoned that Michael used an illusion disc to hide his rotting, digging one up from an old box of leftover parts his father left behind and tweaking it to make himself look normal.

So with that in mind: au where after the pizza sim fire, Michael's remnant attaches to his illusion disc. The disc is found while preparation for the pizzaplex is underway and Fazbear Entertainment reuses the parts like the corner cutters they are. Specifically, they implement it into the pizzaplex security network to better conceal unpleasant elements from nosy guests.

Thanks to this decision, Michael is now able to go pretty much anywhere in the plex and mess with all the tech & animatronics as he pleases. In the VANNI AR network he appears as a physical entity (still trying to come up with a design for him) and can talk more freely, but outside of it he can only really communicate through taking over animatronics, messing with the various tv screens, or (on rare occasions) commandeering the speaker system.

Vanessa absolutely despises the guy as he causes trouble for her specifically and bothers her nonstop whenever she has the VANNI mask on to make it harder for her to hurt people.

M.X.E.S/M1 however is more or less tolerant of him. His tampering is fairly helpful in keeping M2 contained and what's left of F10-N4 can tell he's a good man, different from the horrid con-artist he shares a face with.

I like to think he'd help out Gregory and Cassie as like a mysterious tech based guardian angel, but I haven't gotten around to figuring out their dynamics yet.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FACT THIS CHAPTER IMPLIES THE DEATH TEXT SCREEN IS DIAGETIC AND THE PLAYER IS ACTUALLY COMING BACK TO LIFE EVERY TIME?? LIKE

THEY'RE TOSSED INTO THE POPPY GOOP, THE DEATH SCREEN COMES UP, AND THEN IT CUTS TO GIBLET SHOCKING THEM AWAKE. ITS AN ACTUAL IN-UNIVERSE EVENT.

MOB ENTERTAINMENT WHAT DOES THIS MEAN.

Edit: so it's possible the goop scene is from poppys pov, but the inclusion of a line from the chapter 3 hallucination speech makes it very unclear. REGARDLESS, PLAYER/ANGEL STILL GOT FATALLY WOUNDED BY THE PROTOTYPE AND THE DEATH TEXT SCREEN COMES UP RIGHT BEFORE THEY WAKE UP WITH GIBLET. IT IS DIAGETIC, IT HAPPENED IN-UNIVERSE COMPLETELY OUT OF OUR CONTROL, AND WE NEED TO DISCUSS THE IMPLICATIONS OF THAT.

BUT FIRST: I'm gonna describe the characters I know the names of based on the art & short clips I've seen and ya'll are gonna tell me how accurate I am:

Robert- main character, the most normal person on the team but not by much, constantly stressed, shipped with like everyone, has a mentor who looks vaguely like Einstein.

Punch Up- Jacksepticeye, short king, not the brightest, punches people in the dick

Prism- diva girlboss, light powers(?), blinds people

Waterboy- anxious, stutter(?), huge dork, power is self explanatory.

Flambae- a literally flaming homosexual, spanish(?) accent, kind of a prick, sexy.

Phenomaman- alien, superman but awkward & confused about human stuff, had a bad breakup, thinks making love is cuddling.

Blonde Blazer- Phenomamans ex, kissed Robert, wants to be seen as a person.
