The door is being kept open. This is my biggest takeaway from go3. As disappointing as the ending may have felt, with the universe of the story coming to an end, the pocket dimension snow globe theory gives weight to the idea that spinoff stories in so many new universes are possible.

One day, perhaps, we will see a former angel and a former demon drinking copious amounts of vintage wine, while the flurry of snowfall rushes past the windows of a quiet bookshop, free to anticipate their foolish drunkenness out loud
