I know a lot of people don't like the "I'll sell you to a whore house" line from Fuyuhiko but to be honest I found it to be really biting and necessary for him to say from the perspective of establishing stakes.
The mafia is heavily romanticized in movies and video games. It kind of just becomes an aesthetic for people. I think based on impressions from media, people sort of just think mafias are mercenaries in suits who have some sort of code of honour that they follow which makes them noble somehow.
But they exploit people, you know? Badly. There's a lot of human exploitation and suffering going on there. So much unnecessary violence that goes beyond killing and murder. It can be life ruining for all involved.
I feel like Fuyuhiko saying that really helped to establish that he's not just the sort who could murder you, but ruin your entire life. It really said in plain terms, "This guy is dangerous to a degree you're probably not prepared for."
It also demonstrates that his hands are not clean. He's a good guy, as we find out later on. This is true. But he's also a criminal. A highly dangerous one.
I think people are uncomfortable with this line because they woobify him too much and forget what it is exactly that he actually is. A proper, actual gangster with underground dealings.
Two things can be true at once. Fuyuhiko can be kind. Fuyuhiko can also be extraordinarily dangerous.
