Malika Favre by Counter-Print Books
Malika Favre is one of the world’s most celebrated illustrators, known for her stunningly simple work, often utilizing a handful of perfectly refined vector shapes to convey her subject matter. Whether working as a commercial illustrator in advertising, editorial or publishing, or as an artist creating personal pieces, Malika’s artwork is imbued with both an iconic sense of style and underlying meaning. Her images often tweak the intellect, sometimes through the minimal forms she creates and the way they flow into one another; while in others, she conjures up optical illusions with repeating lines and patterns. This revealing monograph tells the story of an authentic artist, one who’s stunning output showcases a unique talent attuned to spotting and appreciating the beauty in the simplest things.

Flags of America by Anjela Freyja
When migrants venture through the desert in hopes to arrive to America, they do out of desperation and the necessity for health and refuge. These journeys are painstaking and taken due to a complete lack of resources and the sanctity of human preservation. The American administration has chosen to treat these refugees as criminals, separating their families, and locking them in detention centres.
The government justifies these policies with racist, untrue rhetoric. It is estimated that there are over 2000 children in detention centres without their parents. Many are sleeping on concrete floors and have extremely limited access to healthcare, nutritious food, and proper hygiene. Please donate to The American Civil Liberties Union - a team of individuals focused on defending the rights of immigrant families.

Futura / Available at www.draw-down.com / A thoroughly researched and richly illustrated examination of one of the most popular typefaces ever created, #Futura. Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, the story of Futura is a fascinating one. Charting its #Bauhaus origins to its use as the first #font on the #moon in 1969, this book tells the story of how the #typeface went from representing radicalism in #design to dependability. Considered durable and timeless, it is a typeface worthy of being rediscovered and celebrated. Designed by German designer #PaulRenner in 1927, Futura became one of the most widely used typefaces the world has ever seen. A sans series that takes its form from simple geometric shapes, Futura — the future — is a truly innovative typeface. Starting from its origins in the New Frankfurt Project, and following is journey further afield to Berlin, Prague, Paris, New York — and even the moon — this book tells the story of how Futura went from representing design radicalism to dependability. #graphicdesign
