“Sometime do you want to go shopping together? I need something decent to survive the year.”

“Ugh, yes, same.  I’d love to go shopping.”

“I think it really is. I think they like it that way.”

“Well, they’re stupid.”

“Oh, well I didn’t mean it in a literal sense. Just…you know, its a saying.”

“A bad one.”

“Moira Hanglan.”

“Good.  So, we’re acquainted, now.”

“Sure. Even if Hogsmeade is as mad as the castle, at least its somewhere different. And I heard there’s a real town in walking distance so I’m determined to find it soon.”

“It can’t be that far, can it?  I mean, this dump isn’t that remote...is it?”

Shaking his head, Francois couldn’t help but grin. “Just eat your food.”

She narrowed her eyes at hi, and then back at her plate.  He’d done something.  A spell.  Dakota curled her lip in disgust, shoving the plate far away from her before turning back to him.  “No.”

“Have you tried using magic? Perhaps you should, you look like an idiot.”

“Have you tried not being such a monumental freak all the time?  Perhaps you should, you look like an idiot.”

Pizza? I love pizza! My mom and dad would get us pizza when we went to muggle towns! I don’t really like shopping and I have no clue what emojis are but I could ask my brother I’m sure he’d know. 

Doubtful.  Wizards don’t know anything useful.

“Well duh. Doesn’t mean it won’t be fun, man! Are you sure you don’t wanna join me?”

“Positive.  Bye.”

Covering a laugh with a cough, Francois slipped in beside the girl and gave her an apologetic look. “Your majesty.” He bowed, exaggerating his French accent, turning his attention back to the first girl. “I ‘ope I ‘aven’t offended you too much. I shall eat my dinner now.” 

She had already moved on when he spoke again, catching Dakota’s attention.  She looked up at him, lip curling in disgust as she just stared at him.  “What’s wrong with your voice.”

“Come on, sneaking out of this castle is easy.” Jane waved and started walking toward the exit.

Dakota hesitated for a moment, not entirely sure she really wanted to follow her.  But, anywhere she went had to be better than here. “Do you leave often?”

Okay, this was slightly amusing. It was annoying as hell, but still amusing. Licking his lips, he tried to keep the amusement from his face as he moved down another seat. “Further still?” He asked, raising his brows with the question.

“Yes.” She pressed her lips into a thin smile, pointing directly at a girl a few seats away.  “She’s the end of the line.  Sit next to her or go to the other end of the table.  But, these seats?” Dakota gestured vaguely about the seats in her immediate area.  “Off limits.”

Francois quirked an eyebrow at his fellow snake before slipping into the next seat. “Better?” He drawled.

“Further.”

“Why don’t we just go somewhere. Get away from the stupid for awhile.”

“Please.  Anywhere away from here would practically be heaven.”
