It’s glaringly obvious that many of you are starting to cross a boundary into absolute lunacy. You’re letting trolls infiltrate your brain and make you insecure. You’re letting people who sit online all day making up things and trying to convince others affect your daily life. It’s time to take a step outside. Just 24 hours away from the internet will detox your brain.

I saw someone say this and it’s so true…if I don’t like sushi, I don’t spend hours of my day running up to people on the street telling them I don’t like sushi and trying to convince them to agree with me. You just move on with your life. The reason trolls keep going is because that’s what they want to do. They want to fight. They’re not trying to give you proof or convince you to agree with them. They just want you to keep engaging.

And I find it actually so sad that there’s actual fans who have been around for years who are now joining in on spreading lies or feeding trolls just because they’re beginning to be scared or insecure and don’t know what to do now that they’re not getting any “content.” People who should be supporting Paige and Azzi are more worried about how they’re not getting “fed” or not getting a Pazzi fix that it’s rotted their brains.

Here’s what it comes down to…no one here knows Paige or Azzi personally so NONE of us have any right to make assumptions about their personal relationship. They’ve shared bits and pieces with us, but it does not mean they’re obligated to share more.

Let’s look at this summer as an example. Azzi visited Paige a number of times to watch her play basketball. If you took the public basketball game out of the equation, would you have known she was there? No. The only reason we knew about some of those visits was because she was spotted in a very public and crowded arena by fans. So we don’t know anything about their lives and when they see each other because it’s none of our business.

All Star weekend was an anomaly. There were cameras and live streams going everywhere but if there weren’t? We wouldn’t have seen any of it. We wouldn’t have known about any of the nights they hung out together. Because it’s none of our business.

Paige flew to LA after her Turks trip and now she’s shown up at a TCU game last night when everyone thought she was probably still in LA. Just goes to show you that no one has a clue what either of them are doing unless it’s posted by someone. And contrary to your beliefs, they don’t actually have to post everything they do.

They are adults and can function in private and they can live their lives in private like they did for YEARS. Things that they do together or apart don’t have to be publicly shared. You as a fan have become too comfortable in digging and searching for clues about their relationship. And when you can’t find anything to support your delusions, you’re letting your own insecurities overtake your logical thinking.

It is not surprising that they may have decided to go back to the “private but not a secret” route. Given the reaction of insane people, I don’t blame them. They’ve had their lives dissected for far too long. When they hard launched, people became too comfortable and thought that because they were “public” it meant they could share things that should never be shared publicly. And people started posting things on TikTok and Instagram and tagging them in it. I’m sorry, but if you can’t see how absolute fucking batshit crazy and envasive that is, then you really need help.

But it’s also so much more than that.

The media is a cesspool and I don’t doubt that it’s played a part. Between social media sites engagement farming their content and local journalists straight reporting absolutely trash, I’d go private too.

Azzi is in her last year of school, pursuing an MBA which is already not easy. She’s also the leader on the basketball team and needs to have a standout season because of the expectations of the draft and her goal of being drafted first overall. That’s a heavy load to carry. But then you’ve got the Dallas media reporting the fact that drafting Azzi to the Wings would be a distraction just for the fact that she’s dating Paige while completely ignoring her skills as an actual player. If someone said that about you, wouldn’t you want to keep your head down and prove them wrong?

I don’t have any answers for your direct questions but all of this is to point out that no one here knows anything. They went long distance for years before they were at UConn together. If you don’t think they already knew that this stretch of time would be apart then I don’t know what to tell you. There are wnba couples who spend months apart because they’re on different teams. What makes them any different? If Azzi is drafted somewhere else, they’d also be apart for months at a time with maybe only 3-4 games against each other.

When you begin questioning a relationship that is not your own, I think it truly means you need to take a day outside. Clear your head, spend time with friends and family, etc. Nothing is that serious in life where you need to spend hours upon hours fighting with trolls trying to convince them of something. Trolls have existed since the beginning of time. Paige and Azzi could make out on the basketball court in front of everyone and trolls would still find a way to fight it. That’s just what they do.

Please, if you are an actual fan, stop letting trolls affect the rational side of your brain. The more space you give them, the more mush your brain will become. And you will start to convince yourself of anything. Critical thinking is important and the lack of critical thinking I’ve seen on here from REAL fans is so sad.
