I love how unhinged the General Hammond lore is. What do you mean he knew time travel was possible 30 years before anyone else on earth did. He can't have batted an eyelid when he learned about the gate. What do you mean he knew SG-1 before they met him. What must he have been thinking when the guy he helped escape from a prison van 30 years ago came through the gate and helped abduct one of his staff. Two seasons in he casually drops he's been friends with Jacob for years. At what point did he realise his buddy's daughter is That Samantha Carter with the note. Of course he knows Jack's lying about the first Abydos mission - he looks at Daniel's picture on the file and goes that's the dumb bitch that tried to prove he's from the future by saying we know about the moon landing, he's not dead. He knew damn well Daniel and then Teal'c were gonna join SG-1 but he was still resistant about it. You can't blame him for being so freaking grumpy the first few episodes, A he's trying not to give away that he recognises these people and B he has zero free will in this situation š He's friends with shady guys who owe him favours. The president lets him do whatever he wants. He may be his best friend. We never even get to meet that president. He wants to send the entire SGC out to save three members of SG-1 and poor Davis is nearly crying trying to explain why he can't do that. He's all 'I follow orders š ' but the moment Teal'c leaves too he literally abandons his post to go help him search for the other three. There are literally zero consequences for this
