For this test, we used a radiometer, which measures the radiating energy coming off from the material of the shirt. For each shirt we put it under the light and let it heat up. For every five minutes, we recorded the amount of radiating energy for a total of fifteen minutes.

Overall, ColdBlack did amazing! The material is definitely a heat blocker! Athletes, try this product out!!!

So Emily, what position do you play Emily?

I’m a goalie.

Emily, do you guys usually play a lot in the summer, or throughout the year?

Throughout the year, but we practice a lot during the summer.

So you’re holding ColdBlack right now and I have explained to you what ColdBlack is. What do you think about this product?

I think it’s pretty interesting. It’s pretty neat of an idea. Definitely worth trying.

Would you think your team would like to try it?

I think so.

There’s a lot of avid runners and golf players I have interviewed say the price is very good. Would you consider buying this product at the price?

Yes, I would.

Comparing ColdBlack to Nike, what would you say?

I would have to try it out, because I am a big fan of Nike. But, I would definitely want to try this out, it looks like a good product.

Because of the poor camera quality of the interview, I have decided to write down Jim's responses to my questions (if I have any requests to posting the video, I will do so!)

  So Jim, you researched ColdBlack actually?

Yea, when it first came out. Because I end up running a lot in the sun.

And comparing ColdBlack to Nike and any other gear, what would you say?

The weight—I would want to get a sense of the weight of the material. Because, if it felt heavier than a normal fabric, I would be less inclined to wear it. And also with this, I would imagine there’s gonna be a premium that’s charged. So, I would want to make sure with whatever extra money I’m expected to pay, it would be worth it. I wouldn’t want to pay for a technology that wasn’t delivering for that price range. 

(After the interview recording, I showed him the price on the tag ($39.99 w/o tax), at which he was pleasantly surprised--he was expecting it to be WAY more expensive.)

Have you had any friends or anyone you know try it out?

No. The ColdBlack, not yet. I have not. To be honest, I have not seen it in retail stores yet. I do my shopping online, and that’s where I read a little bit about it first. But I not yet had the opportunity to try it on.

Now that’s it is tangible in your hands, would you try it on?

Yes! It’s definitely lighter than I thought it might be. I would definitely choose the black, to hide the sweat. This is good, I see it has the UPF (looks at tag) This is even the kind of stuff I would pick up before going on vacation like Hawaii where it is really sunny because you can get away with it (I sweat like crazy).

Hey Under Armour! I walked up and down the streets of San Francisco's SOMA district to get a few opinions of Under Armour’s ColdBlack. I received a lot of positive responses (some of which are now recruited fans of ColdBlack) I will be posting some interviews throughout the week!
