Due to his abilities and his position, most people probably expect him to get along just fine regardless of circumstances, especially since he very much wants to appear to be all fine even when he isn't (probably a defense mechanism considering the life he's led). He never expects any help from others either, he's got the sort of mindset that he can carry his own problems, his friends' problems and probably a bunch of strangers' as well.

Most people probably take his assurances at face value, but HLL and BYT just won't have it, HLL being all offended she isn't allowed to share in this dangerous mission even though they've only just met, and BYT immediately making sure ZZ is safe and as healthy as can be, not to mention not giving him up even to save his sworn brothers (despite at the same time still saying they'll have to have a duel). And as time passes and the three of them get closer, this tendency to make sure ZZ will be fine just grows in HLL and BYT.

The wicked commit endless evil; yet the good are losing their lives. Is that the divine law you are speaking of?

zhan zhao adventures: ∞ fight scenes

I wanted to talk a bit about this scene from episode 25 and why I love it so much (and why it shows just how well they work as a unit):

Bai Yutang knew the other two wouldn't like what he was going to do (look at that hesitant gaze...), but unlike in the earlier episodes, he didn't rush to run off to do something dangerous without telling them.

Instead he tried his best to communicate exactly how important it was despite the danger, and you can see from his face here that he would've stayed a bit longer to convince them (you can literally see the gears turning in his head omg), especially Linglong, had Zhan Zhao not explicitly given him his blessings. Bai Yutang was clearly surprised but also grateful, and finally left knowing Zhan Zhao would be able to help ease Huo Linglong's concern.

Keep in mind that one of the biggest reasons Zhan Zhao understood and decided not to dissuade him was because he too was in the exact same position (of risking his life and worse, he's even keeping it from them at this point lol) and probably felt he had no right to try to stop Bai Yutang. I love that they showed him hiding his marks right before this scene too...

And I absolutely love how Linglong looked at Zhan Zhao in betrayal LOL ("What are you doing ??? We're supposed to discourage him together ?????"). She does understand, but how could she not worry? The following scene of her not having the appetite from how much she worried and Zhan Zhao urging her to eat is so- *chefs kiss*
