When recent idol historicals remove the power/stakes but leave the insane pursuit and devotion, it feels unbalanced and stupid.)
He's not super pleased and a little shocked, and some of it is perhaps his class (he's a salt smuggler, they don't seem big on rites and formality) but a lot of it is because he's a man, so to him all he sees is the calculation, he does not truly get the need behind it.
