The spring before Kris goes to college, Victoria’s getting a ride home from her and watches tangerine waves of sunset ripple over Kris’s face and fondness wells in her heart and in a burst of thoughtless affection she tries telling Kris how she feels.

Vic feels time slow down and frost over as Kris pulls to the side of the road and shuts her down firmly, and Vic can tell Kris is trying to be gentle and minimize damage to Vic’s self-esteem but Vic is like twelve and that moment haunts her for almost the entirety of her teens. She’ll be at a Vortex Club party or breezing through an exam and feeling on top of the world until she remembers Kris telling her you’re like the baby sister I always wanted and Vic has to stare into the void for a moment until she shakes off the urge to drown herself in the nearest water source.

really love a corruption arc where the character is trying way too hard to make it work but they're in over their head and it's uncomfortable and embarrassing and they're swallowing their own puke every time they do something awful and damp with sweat and trembling but insistent that they can do this, they want it, they're not a child, but it's like they're playing dressup in clothes that are too big for them and trying to convince their own reflection in the mirror that they fit and it's just no fun to watch at all

do we think Hoodwinked and The Wolf Among Us could exist in the same universe the same way Shrek's universe is formatted with animals and fairytale creatures being separated from The Major Stars living it up in Far Far Away

#obviously if they're in the same world there's the issue with the hoodwinked wolf #but I don't even think he's red's wolf like that. bigby's obviously THE big bad wolf #other Wolf is somebody's college roommate who doesn't give a damn about Red until she's a suspect outside their OG stories #he covers the detecting and reporting in the woods while bigby covers fabletown cause wolf isn't a sellout #he still takes pride in representing the 'unwanted's the business office ignores #red's the same though #that's part of why she was so wary of wolf in hoodwinked + why she has wolf-away-spray in her basket #this isn't her first rodeo #it's also why she's looking at him like she's surprised he's.. kind of a loser instead of a Big Bad #you can also see posters for a red hood brand selling refreshments in the background of the trip trap. I think that's her advertising #for the puckett family business #japeth is being threatened with promises to send him to the farm. he's never going #my posts #the wolf among us #hoodwinked
