Type II

Interesting combination of multiple sans serif typefaces. I think it would be more successful if they only used two or one, however.

Here's a bad example of type combinations in pet food packaging. Ironically, this one comes from the Dieline. The use of a different typeface for each letter in "Misfits" is totally overdone and downright ugly.

I really like the trend of combining serif and sans serif typography that Ron Paul and his supporters have been using for campaign designs. The light sans serif treatment of '2012' gives the traditional bumper sticker a more modern feel while not having to rely on the overdone Obama '08 Gotham treatment or the slab serif I've seen for his 2012 designs.

Pet food packaging has been getting a lot more attractive lately. While I'm not usually a fan of the rounded typefaces, it works well for Iams, and I like their combination of bold and light weights for the rest of the text.

The worst use of type combinations (in my opinion) is on beer packaging.

An example of combining retro-script with a sans serif

I am not typically a fan of the typewriter-like typefaces like Courier and such, but I am in love with the use of typography on this moonshine packaging - I've never been able to throw these bottles away!

One of my favorite places to find diverse type combinations is package design. I love the soft, expressiveness of the typeface used for "babee's" with the very clean sans serif treatment of "rape(?) honey."

This is a nice use of display type, but what I found interesting was the use of script letters for the first letter of some of the words with a more traditional serif typeface for the rest of the text. It's not a method I would've chosen, but I think it's pretty successful overall.
