Synopsis: You decide to take a pottery class when the instructor catches your eye.
Pairing: pottery instructor!Benito x reader
Word count: 1.4k
After your last breakup, you promised to take time to find yourself before getting in another relationship. Thinking you found the one, you poured your heart and soul into everything with him. Soon all of his interests became your interests and everything you enjoyed, your plans and your dreams were on the backburner. Everything seemed perfect until it wasnβt. When he broke things off with you, you had no clue who you were anymore.
Never again.
Slowly branching out makes you feel safer. Picking and choosing where you would direct your interests and trying new things felt like putting the right pieces of the puzzle together again. Thatβs how you ended up in a pottery class in the middle of October. It started off as a fun way to show your creativity, making something new every week.Β
The instructor was also hot.
The first class took you by surprise. Walking into the warm decorated space, made you feel at home. You noted the decorations covering the wall, most notably the giant Puerto Rico flag hanging above the desk. Music filled the room and as you stepped in, you saw a man gathering supplies while dancing. He hummed along with the music, at peace in the moment. When he spun on his heel, he noticed he had a visitor and nearly dropped everything.
βIβm sorryβ, you rushed to help him recover the tray he knocked over
βNo hay problemaβ, he responded gently, βItβs my faultβ
βI should have made more noise when I came inβ
βI wouldnβt have noticedβ, he laughed, βI need to turn down the musicβ
βI liked itβ
βΒΏTienes salsa?β
βYo practicoβ¦poquitoβ
βΒΏHablas espaΓ±ol?β, he grinned as he quirked his brow
βYo tambiΓ©n practico hablar espaΓ±ol. Pero no es perfectoβ, you grinned back, nervous that you sound a mess
βYour Spanish is good. If you want to practice or salsa, Iβm availableβ, he offered, holding out his hand for yours
His smile told you he meant something different, but you welcomed the exchange. You put your hand in his as he shook it.
βBenitoβ
He smiled as you gave him yours, committing it to memory.
Every class, you all learned to make something new. Every class, regardless of how your creation turned out, Benito was always there to offer assistance and compliments. Something about him felt so inviting, you barely noticed that you were coming to class early and leaving later than everyone else.
When you arrived early, he would pull you onto the makeshift dancefloor in front of the class to dance with him. He always kept his distance with you physically, but always kept his eye on you. You could tell he was checking you out and you didnβt shy away from it.Β
βMe gusta bailar contigo mamΓβ, he professed as he spun you
The name made you blush every time, but you refused to read into it. At the end of class, he always checked in to see how you were enjoying class while he cleaned up. It always ended with you helping out. He would walk you to your car, open and close your door, then watch you leave.
βGet home safeβ, he pleaded, βPorfiβ
He really wanted to ask you to tell him when you got home safely, but wanted to keep it as professional as he could.
Yes, professional.
Which is why he was preparing for a private lesson with you on a Sunday morning when classes were only on Thursday evenings.
You walked in, looking for your instructor. Benito was preparing the clay for the session. He knew you were struggling with keeping your vase uniformed and he was racking his brain with ways to help.
βΒΏNo hay mΓΊsica hoy?, you smiled as you put on your apron
Benito turned around with a smile, hands already covered in clay.
βSi, necesitaba pensarβ
He spoke to Siri and music started to fill the silent space. You stood next to him as he finally finished cutting the clay. He figured there might be many do overs.
βΒΏCΓ³mo estΓ‘s?β
βEstoyβ¦β, he kept thinking of the easiest way to answer your simple question as he piled the clay into the container, βconfundidoβ
βΒΏConfundido?βΒ
βSΓ. Thatβs why I was thinkingβ
Benito didnβt give you space to ask follow up questions. Instructed you to grab your usual seat, so he would walk you through improving your base. You turned the machine on, trying to remember the steps he taught you during class. You would admit you missed most of the lesson that day. This particular session he wore his glasses and a sleeveless shirt. While everyone listened and learned the steps like good students, you were eye humping your instructor, thinking about his muscles and tattoos.Β
βI see the problemβ, Benito smirked as your clay started to lose its shape
βThat was quickβ
βEs muy obviaβ
He walked behind the bench you were sitting on, placing one hand on your shoulder.
βYouβre not focused. Starting off, you are good, then your mind starts to wonderβ, his voice started to trail off as he noticed some of your hair at the nape of your neck had fallen out of your pony tail. He should have left it alone, but he opted to twirl the strands between his fingers. A chill ran down your spine at the contact. You could feel him gently tugging at the black scrunchie holding your hair up. Soon, your hair was free from its grasp.
βWhatβs on your mind bebecita?
By default, you need to change the subject. His directly in your eye was going to lead to a scenario youβve only dreamed of, but wasnβt prepared for.
βMy lessonβ, you breathed, βI donβt remember the stepsβ
Benito smiled, he could walk you through the steps. He sat on the bench directly behind you, his chest pressed against your back with his mouth right above your ear.
Your brain started to short circuit as his cologne filled your personal space. Your body relaxed against his. He felt so warm and inviting, making it nearly impossible to move away. Your thighs were between his and the tightly pressed against yours as he adjusted his legs to reach the pedal. You could feel your core tightening around something that wasnβt even there.Β
βNecesitas respirar mamΓβ, he whispered in your ear
When you released the breath you didnβt know you were holding, he finally pressed down on the tiny pedal. The machine came to life as he instructed you through the first step. To your surprise, he placed his hand over yours to guide your hands through the steps.
Every time you complied he whispered words of encouragement in your ear. You tried your hardest to keep it together, but it was becoming too much. With one particular step, he smiled against your ear. Your body was struggling to keep still.
βGood girlβ, he whispered in your ear
A soft moan escaped your lips before you could attempt to stop yourself. Benitoβs lips trailed kisses down the side of your neck as you squeezed your thighs together. Your hands were left gripping the clay as his hands found their way to your waist. You leaned into his chest again as he stared down at you. There was a brief moment of silence before his lips were on yours. He gripped your hips tighter, attempting to pull you even closer. He was harder than heβs ever been and pressed it against you. You moaned into his mouth, feeling his hands trail up your waist and under your shirt.
You finally took your hands away from the clay, wiping the remains on the apron. You brought your hand to his cheek as his tongue slid past your lips, smearing some clay on his face.
The bell above the front door chimed, shocking you both. Benito jumped up to readjust himself before heading to the front. It was an elderly couple looking to sign up for classes. Benito scheduled them as quickly and politely as he could muster. Once they left, he made sure to lock the door.
When he walked to the back of the building, you were no longer in your seat. Benito found you sitting on his desk, no apron with your shirt unbuttoned. Any ounce of professionalism he held on to was long gone as he closed the space between the two of you to pull you into a kiss.

Oh btw, Trump is actively erasing black history on a daily basis. Roman said he supports Trump. My ancestors deserve to be remembered.
He betta stay his ass out of black culture. You canβt be in it while simultaneously against it loool!!
if you're upset and/or don't understand the conversations we've been having as well as why this is upset for us as women of color, largely BLACK women, idk what to tell you.
