Yeah he’s extremely guilty lol. Sometimes I wonder if it’s wrong of me to affirm the prosecution’s narrative in some way, but I feel like the majority of people online don’t think he did it and what I say barely has any impact.

I can understand the allure of conspiracy with political/politicized assassinations, but after months of entertaining different theories and hypothesizing about various reasons the U.S./Israeli government would have to do this, I just don’t see it. CK was no JFK. Tyler is a nonsensical choice for a patsy as well. Why choose a totally normal, nondescript person over a crazy loner weirdo like Thomas Crooks? Granted, there are some glaring flaws with the investigation, but I think all of them can be attributed to haste and Kash Patel’s ineptitude.

Hey, welcome aboard! If you want to learn more, you’ll find this recent ask helpful, and you can go through my general and legal masterpost for most of the important stuff! I’ve also made a masterpost for the prelim which I’ll update continually.

Which video did you watch? Was it the Turkey Tom video? I can confirm the source was their former friend/roommate and he is very biased on top of harboring some kind of perverse jealousy of Tyler, but I won’t go into it if it’s not what you’re talking about.

I completely agree that both of those cases have been irreversibly prejudiced by the government and media, but no, I don’t think Tyler is innocent; I’m 100% sure he did it in fact. If you want an idea of how extensive the prosecution’s case against him is, just read about or watch the preliminary hearing. There’s too much to cover here, and I’m planning to put together a comprehensive list (here is the incomplete one), but they really do have everything—DNA on the rifle and other items found at the scene, multiple confessions, cellphone data, cctv footage, and more. I’m sure his team is not going to put forward an argument for innocence. If they plead not guilty, I believe they’ll concede he committed the murder but argue that he deserves a lighter sentence.

Hi! So we thought Judge Graf was going to make the bindover decision on July 10th (whether the prosecution had met probable cause for the case to proceed to trial), but the defense asked for more time to file briefings and the last prelim date has been postponed to Sept 1st. So *technically* the prelim hasn’t ended. Sept 1st is a four-hour hearing for the parties to argue about probable cause. After that Graf will make the bindover decision, and after that Tyler will be arraigned and enter a plea.

The prosecution will file their 35-page briefing on July 28th, the defense will file theirs on August 11th, and the prosecution’s 18-page reply will be on August 18th. We can expect to understand more about the defense’s strategy next month, but since they’re just trying to defeat probable cause, I’m not sure if they’ll use trial arguments or hint at mitigation, because that would imply Tyler’s guilt.

Most likely yes. There’ll be a 4-hour hearing on September 1st for the defense and prosecution to present arguments on bind over (whether the state has met the probable cause burden to bring the case to trial), but it’s still unclear when Judge Graf will actually make the bind over decision. When he does (which is guaranteed, the case is very strong), it may take days or a couple weeks for Tyler to be arraigned and enter a plea. I’m pretty sure he’ll plead not guilty because it’s unlikely a guilty plea will result in a better sentence at such an early stage, and I doubt the defense has worked out a good plea deal as of right now.

Nope, we don't have confirmation but I agree he might be on the spectrum. We'll probably find out soon enough anyway. If he's diagnosed, I predict the defense will file to get the death penalty off the table, like Bryan Kohberger's defense team did. N.b. this is just based on my observations!

Anecdotally, his step grandma posted on FB about having two grandsons with autism (and I'm pretty sure he's one of them.) His mom used an autism awareness FB profile frame in 2016. Then there was that Daily Mail article with a former classmate who said a lot of his friend group was neurodivergent. Other than that, however, no explicit references to ASD come to mind, and I haven't seen any friends say he's autistic or ADHD.

Going into armchair diagnosis territory, some descriptions of his mannerisms and demeanors do seem reminiscent of ASD. For example, his former coworker who said he walked around with his fists clenched everywhere and almost never spoke to his coworkers, sitting in a laundry room by himself when they talked politics. Won't get too much into this and risk saying something insensitive, but as someone who's also neurodivergent, I agree that I get those vibes from him.

We'll find out for sure as the defense team attempts to negotiate a better sentence for him. As I posted here before, defendants such as Bryan Kohberger and Tanner Horner have attempted to get the death penalty removed on the basis that it's technically unconstitutional to execute intellectually disabled individuals. Defense attorneys have argued that even high-functioning ASD makes a perpetrator less culpable than the average criminal. This argument has never worked thus far, but if the defense team manages to get Tyler a diagnosis (or if he's had one all along), I'm sure we'll see a motion from them.

First off. I have a new masterpost for the preliminary hearing up which will be continuously updated. I’ll put together my own summaries (and already have for day one, pretty shoddily though), but before that, I’ll also post compilations of good articles for each prelim date for easier referencing. To avoid repeating the articles, my summaries won’t be as comprehensive and will mostly be aimed at people who have some basic familiarity with the case, highlighting details that were previously unknown.

So I can’t guarantee they’ll be the best introduction for someone who’s new to the case, but reading the articles should be good enough to get you on track! I’d recommend the NYT, Fox (obligatory fuck them but they had a reporter inside the courtroom), KSL, BBC, and CNN. The live update articles are generally much more comprehensive. And as always, there’s nothing better than watching the hearings for yourself, though I understand it’s a big time commitment.

I know how overwhelming it can be to dive in now, 10 months in. I’d advise you to stick to the prelim for now, it should answer most of your questions about evidence and the investigation. However, if you’d like to know more about previous legal proceedings, just head to my legal masterpost—I have posts on almost every major motion that’s been filed. The most important ones are the motion to subpoena Tyler’s gf Lance, motion to find prosecutors in contempt of court, motion to postpone the prelim, motion to exclude cameras from the courtroom, motion to disqualify the prosecution for conflict of interest, and the motion to allow Tyler to appear in civilian clothing without shackles. (Phew!)

Summary: Officer Chris Bagley, former UVU campus PD, testifies about the layout of the campus, witnessing the shot, and the discovery of the screwdriver. SBI Agent David Hull testifies about videos of the event and shooting, showing the presence of children and the proximity of others to Kirk; Kirk's autopsy; and doorcam footage of Tyler in Orem at midnight.

No, the photographer's spot was moved for the prelim and none of them were able to get a good photo of his face. This is the best we got :( you can see his pretty eyelashes I guess, and a sliver of his nose...

I think I’m going to start with answering my asks, then posting photos of the individual exhibits here (text messages, bullet inscriptions, DNA reports…). Then a summary of Tyler and his family’s reactions in court, because that’s a very important thing the mainstream media hasn’t touched upon much. Then brief (and extensive) recaps if I ever get the time. I’ll also update my masterposts (general, legal) and will post here once I get that done.
