This piece encapsulates the combination of realism and abstraction that emerges in my work. This contrast, to me, represents the chaos and contrast that I experience daily - I have a fairly calm exterior self.

Through expressive brushwork and pallet knife strokes, I portray my inner world where autism, ADHD, and BPD find visual expression.

Mixed media is so fun for me. This painting was created with acrylic paint, oil paint, various acrylic texture and effects mediums, oil pastel, watercolour, POSCA pens, and dried flowers/leaves.

Hopefully the continuing experimentation will help me get closer to where I want to be with my art.

I was lost in my own head earlier today, thinking about how my life holds no meaning, and how I'm destined for nothing. Doomed to struggle daily with little to show for it, and to die a nobody. Never to do anything of value or be anyone of value.

And then I went into my little painting room, my little sanctuary where I can just *exist*, free of societal expectations of who I need to be and the monetary value I need to provide to be deemed worthy of life in today's capitalistic hellscape.

I set to work on finishing this painting, and I remembered that my artwork shows my deepest inner workings. All of my pain, sorrow, struggles, anguish, and anger are portrayed, along with my weird thought spirals, excitement, and the chaos that exists in my brain. I map the crazy world that exists in my head and I bare that for all to see. Maybe you relate to it, maybe you don't, but there's value in that. There's a message and an experience to be shared.

As a Neurodivergent and chronically ill individual, I'm used to being told over and over that I won't amount to anything important, but creating these worlds visually ignites something within me. It is my purpose, and that, itself, is important.
