grace may be over, but it's still alive. the lack of updates doesn't mean this game will stop delighting us with its messages and characters. if grace was able to help so many people who fear religions, who were lost in guilt for their actions, then we must understand that it's doing its job, regardless of who worked on it. ultimately, simon is just another human being, a minor, a literal CHILD who had to cope for a huge amount of time with the shit that was heaped on the person he tried to help, on his friends, and on himself.

let's not forget the main message in Grace: people are capable of changing for the better. it takes time, but eventually everything works out.
