      Pinching the bridge of her nose, an irritable huff escaped her. Light didn’t think it was a particularly difficult leap of logic; Hell, it seemed downright self-evident that bringing a massive cinderblock-sized sword would freak everybody in the tiny potions store the heck out. 

      “Look, either you’re going to have to leave that at the inn or I’m going to confiscate it,” she finally bit out, hand dropping to her hip to be just a bit closer to the gunblade’s hilt.

“We will. I will save her. I have to. I’m the hero, after all.” 

He wanted nothing more, than a happy ending. It was probably none existant, but he had to keep hoping.

              “Tch.”

              Really took a lot of energy to keep all that skepticism in check - his ego was fragile, far more than hers. He needed to be the hero, it was his vulnerability as much as his strength.

“I’ll find her, again. Don’t worry.” He sighed softly.

      “Don’t beat yourself up over it, I have zero plans to tend to your shattered psyche.”

        Her reply was brusque, but that was her style, really. Fixing an icy gaze on her soon-to-be brother-in-law, Light arched a brow.

“I’m not your - “

She grimaced. For all intents and purposes, he kind of was nowadays.

          PANDORA IS A PLANET FILLED to the brim with eccentric personalities. unfortunately, most of them end up having a psychological condition that makes them either dangerous or simply unsavory. a prime example is hovering quite close to the other woman, inhaling the scent of her bright pink hair. while this place is mostly kept under an iron fist in terms of violence prevention, the psychopaths & perverts find ways to get their fix. 

          STANDING FROM HER SEAT & approaching the male in the booth behind the newbie vault hunter, athena seizes him by the throat. she draws close, whispering something in his ear before releasing her grasp. overall, it’s quick & efficient, as the masked freak ends up sprinting off whilst spouting obscene gibberish. 

          A WIDE RANGE OF UNPLEASANT personalities, that much is blatantly obvious. leaves one to wonder how a woman like athena fits into the picture. she’s certainly a far cry from being average, having her own pandorian-esque moments among other things, but she largely acts as an anchor for anyone at least vaguely normal & sane. finding her seat again, she listlessly answers the assumption issued before having rid them both of that pest.

               “ i’m here to kill someone for money. “

          BEING SO ADMIRABLY BLUNT really only works if you know how the various social systems here operate. especially in this little town, where there’s actually some concept of rule upon a planet so plainly lawless. “ but you’re as green as your hair is pink. “ not to say that she doesn’t know how to fight – it’s obvious that she does, her impressive physique & trained stature is evidence of that. “ … & i have a soft spot for women. we typically end up being victims in a place like this. if you don’t know what you’re doing? the same’ll happen to you, even if you are a skilled warrior. “ vibrant eyes flicker to the woman’s lean, muscled arms before dropping in the direction of her waist, indicating that she knows a weapon is there despite not currently having a line of sight on it. 

               “ most people here don’t care about dying.                  they’ll throw themselves at you in hoards,                  or with bombs strapped to their chest. “

               Unflappable as usual, the soldier did not even flinch when the hunter        leapt from her seat, intent on the vagrant who seemed fascinated with all       the different scents in her fair pink hair. It wasn’t as if she wasn’t affected       by the strangeness of the experience - it really put into perspective how       otherworldly this other world really was. Didn’t mean she couldn’t handle       herself though. Not that her attempts to save Light’s honor weren’t       charming (to people more easily charmed).

                          “That wasn’t strictly necessary,” she spoke, averting her eyes so       she could collect the contents of her binder in some sort of organized       fashion. Far as she could tell, it was damn near useless but it was more       than the current nothing she’d gleaned.

              A single pink brow arched at the hunter’s declaration of her       mercenary leanings - not so much surprise at the very action itself as       much as it was the willingness with which that information was       disseminated. Things really were different here. The lawlessness of this       society was...different.

              “Don’t let me stop you from achieving your goals,” she murmured       dryly.

              Leaning back in her seat, posture still ramrod straight, Light regarded       her companion intently as the woman went on to warn her about the       psychological instability that seemed so common in the population. A soft       sound of amusement escaped her at the declaration of her ‘green’ status -       otherwise, she was immobile and attentive. A cop thing, to be observant.

              “And I suppose you’re the solution to all my problems.”
