Its A Ruff Time Right Meow

Pups and Pride is two things:

1 - a way to show both Pride support and cute dogs. Dogs support us no matter what, because all they care about is love. They wouldn’t judge someone wearing the rainbow with pride (and not just because they’re color blind).

2 - it’s a hopefully new organization I plan to start. It’s a brand new concept and it might be while before it actually becomes anything other than sharing Pride pups, but hopefully it becomes something.

What do I want Pup Pride to be? What would it be for?

I want Pup Pride to become an event - probably something that happens during Pride parades. The dogs would be there not only showing support and being cute (decked out in rainbow), but giving support. People could give them hugs and receive love from them. It would take donations that would be split 50/50. One half will go to animal shelters and the other half would go to LGBTQ+ communities. This is will be a nonprofit charity.

Another thing I would like is for some of the dogs to be shelter dogs. Dogs that can be adopted during these events. I hope that if it eventually gets enough donations, the adoptions can be free. More dogs will be given more homes and Pride people will be getting more love.

I want to spread love. People deserve to be loved, no matter who they are. Dogs are willing to give it 100%. Dogs deserve love, no matter their background. LGBT people have a lot of love to give.

This is a new concept, and I have a lot to do to get it started. I’m going to need a lot of help, and a lot of people. I figured the best way to start is here, and hopefully I can figure out all I need and what to do from there.

As you may or may not know my 8-years-old cat Mikoto who has chronic kidney disease (CKD) had two major surgeries last month (see this post for more details). 

First some news…

Mikoto is back home after a long long stay at the clinic.

She is slowly recovering from her surgeries. She was very weak when I got her back. 

I’m taking care of her all day long. We have been able to stabilize her CKD by doing subcutaneous fluid therapy.

Thanks to your precious help I got to pay most of the bills so far 🙏

So far I still have more than $3396 to finish paying off her surgery bills (you can check gofundme for more info). 

I spent all my savings on her and I don’t have anything left.

I have some good news and some bad news.

Good news first: 

Thanks to your donations and the help I received I was able to pay off completely Mikoto’s surgery bills! 

Thank you so much for that!!! ❤️ Thank you for helping Mikoto and for trusting us. I’m genuinely touched; Mikoto means so much to me and I’m really happy for every day I get to spend with her. Thank you for allowing us to have more time together. ☺️

As for the bad news:

Mikoto is hospitalized since Friday.

Mikoto finished her antiobiotics treatment six days ago. During her treatment everything went fairly well. She endured it like the brave cat that she is. 💪

Unfortunately, two nights ago she started to go to the litter every 5 minutes. She stopped drinking water…

I was lucky because her vet’s appointment was in the morning. I was very worried and her lab results didn’t help.

Her blood levels got high again. She is in an acute episode and she had to be hospitalized for three days. 

Also, we’re still waiting for her urinalysis results but I hope her infection is gone once and for all. 

This situation puts me in a very difficult spot. 

I was able to pay the bills but I’m left with zero money this month. 

I don’t know how much treatment she still needs so your help is very much appreciated!

The urinalysis came back and like I expected Mikoto still has an infection :(

We are going to start a more aggressive antibiotics treatment. She’s been through so much already so I’m really really hoping it will be the last.

She is slowly recovering from her surgeries. She was very weak when I got her back. 

Mikoto one week after her second surgery (we sewed her a little body so she doesn’t pull on her stitches). So cute, isn’t she? 😊 

I’m taking care of her all day long. We have been able to stabilize her CKD by doing subcutaneous fluid therapy. I also got her some natural plant-based supplements to help her kidneys. I’m doing anything in my power to help her get better.
