“Yeah, it– I don’t watch that, but they eat people, sure. There the damn evidence.” He shrugged his shoulder, fixing the hoodie he wore with a sigh. “Dad couldn’t take care of himself against them… What the hell makes you think you can?”

“You’d like it. It’s a good show.” Stuart rolled his eyes. “I’ll be fine, Stiles. I can handle myself. I can do research, and I like to think that I’m pretty good with a baseball bat.”

“Maybe because I was out of town?” Stuart rolled his eyes. “I’m not surprised. I don’t exactly mention Stiles to people I know.”

“Yeah, although he’s gotten better at looking at the details and figuring things out.” 

“He sounds like he could be a detective if he wanted to be.”

“Because not all of them are bad… This was– this was a wendigo, that did this.” He kept still for his brother to inspect the wound, sighing softly. “Yeah, he came after me… I… I stopped him though.” Stiles swallowed thickly, not willing to delve much deeper into that story for the moment. “I don’t know, Stuart… But me and Scott, we’ll– I’m not gonna let any of them near you or dad…”

“A wendigo? The cannibal thing from Supernatural?” When did his life suddenly turn into a TV show? Stuart frowned and let go of Stiles. “You’re not going to let any of them near me? Stiles, I’m not going to just let you protect me. I can take care of myself.”
