I mean what else does one call it when a media creator says he approves of and supports an MLM ship, and then in the FOURTH CHAPTER, way more than a YEAR after leading people on, he made those characters' parents get married????
Creative liberty is a thing yeah, but if that was always in the cards he shouldn't have promoted the ship, and if he was gonna promote the ship he should have made it canon, period.
You can't have it both ways, Steve.
And now, those of us who shipped it before chapter 4 either have to drop the ship entirely or risk being associated with incest shippers regardless of our standpoint on incest.
Which, by the way, I don't condone in fiction or reality and am a survivor of.
There is no problem with writing salarry works or shipping them in a timeline of events where their parents never got married.
And frankly, considering their parents got married when they were adults, it's up to interpretation whether or not they would view one another in a familial sense.
I'm not gonna hate on people who don't ship it, but pls ffs seek context bc most of y'all weren't here in the beginning for the bait and are attacking some of us who aren't being weird and gross. There ARE people being weird and gross and portraying them as brothers and boyfriends at the same time and THATS fucking weird. But THAT is a result of Steve sending really gross mixed messages after reaping the rewards of baiting his audience with possible gays.
While I'm here, putting Sal's emotionally abusive at worst and negligent at best father ahead of Sal in getting a romantic interest felt really clumsy and like legitimately bad writing. Especially considering that Lisa is a MUCH better parent than Henry, full stop. It's confusing and out of character for Lisa, and also conveniently shut down canonical salarry,,,, 🤔😬
Where is the "support", Steve?
Why is it, that Steve "supports" bi Sal, but only focuses on his relationship with Ashley (which, btw, I also love, but I hate the compulsive heterosexuality at play when he clearly stated that Sal "might be bi", but only focuses on a woman love interest), makes Larry his step family, doesn't follow up on Travis at all, and prioritizes getting Sal's not great dad hitched to larry's AWESOME mom???
