Tree Trunks had a polyamorous relationship with aliens.

Mr Pig is a horribly jealous man.

They have a picture of Finn hanging above their bed.

When they first got together they kept openly making out in public until everyone else got so grossed out about it that they had an intervention but then Tree Trunks and Mr Pig sang a ballad about it.

Tree Trunks was ready for divorce until a baby was left on their doorstep and they adopted it.

Let me preface, I love both these characters.

Both of them left an old life behind, and did it for someone they loved.

Both of them acted selfishly, and then fucked off into space to leave everyone else to deal with their actions.

The main difference is that Martin knew what he was doing was wrong, and that Betty truly thought she was doing the right thing.

They’re fight or flight. Martin was running. His only goal was to get away. But Betty’s goal was focused. She was fighting FOR something.
