I think what upsets me the (second) most about season 5 is what the writers did to Nancy. For the past few seasons she was such a layered character. She was tough, yes, but she also had this layer of softness. She was scared but she persevered. You could at least see the fear in her eyes. In season 5 she had this hardened exterior with no trace of her usual traits.

"Nancy with her gun" is probably one of the worst character arcs. It's like, her entire personality now. And I sincerely hope she went to a range and practiced because there's no way she could be a "natural" with guns.

And Nancy of previous seasons would never just shoot at the fucking sky. She had no idea what she was aiming at or what would happen. But she goes ahead and shoots the sky and nearly kills everyone.

"I never miss" girl sit down. You're already a badass you don't need to hide behind the gun.

I got major ick when Hopper complimented her shooting.
