mentally ill gender creature

I can’t be stopped, truly. Did some more iteration for these two that has me wanting to do even more…

Honestly I’d really be interested in seeing other people’s takes on these two, with the knowledge of what my inspiration is, cause I definitely feel limited by my skill level at times…

I’ve done loads of Soren comps but this one’s probably the best of them. I can be pretty inconsistent with drawing him and a lot of the prior ones were very iterative…

I got inspired to do this after I had a smaller sketch sesh for Khent (pictured below) Kudos to @bathylychnops for putting out his art process video cause it kicked my creative interest into high gear.

I think the main struggle with this Khent fellow is that I have so much art that I’ve either iterated past or had his fellow party members in it.

So I’m like “ah this is inaccurate” or “should I post this piece cropped cause these are other folks characters?” if ya know what I mean…

Soren suffers from that too as well haha

It’s okay I’m sure I’ll make enough solo pieces of folk that I’m comfortable sharing (famous last words).

I've generally been feeling merciful toward my characters recently, so this is Soren living his best ghost life (out on a cold night with a nice cold drink to cool him down). In game, I think they have a few more horrors to get through (and a lot more boyfailing and loser behavior) but I'm hoping they've already faced the worst of them (getting blown up and dying).

Is my character type just gender creatures who've never been the same since the incident? it may or may not be a running theme

tho I do have a different beloved loser {derogatory} who grew up just fine and sucks major ass personality-wise, so I've got some range !

It’s my dead soon to be 17 year old highschooler who is so cool and not a self centric loser ,,, forced into a monster hunting group with his ex rival and a bunch of other characters.

Man his lore is no easier to get into and theres stuff I can’t share cause the major spoilers aren’t out yet but it’s less scary to post him cause theres so much less of a backlog (and what there is, I’m not sure if I’d share cause this is where I figured out his definitive look, pretty much.)

More precampaign stuff cause I’m trying to figure out the order for the rest and what I do and don’t want to post. I’ve drawn him for so long and so much I think stuff is simply of the past or I’ve iterated past it too far. We’ll see we’ll see.

Khent - He's recently half dragon! He has divorced parents, father issues, and a malicious green dragon trapped in his head that torments him. He is very clever but incapable of magic, so he helped his father academically and physically.

Keyne - Khent's father, a tempest cleric to Hlal and the arbiter of artefacts in the city of Glimmerwood. He's a distant but caring man who struggles to let others in. Lived with his son and cat Calia, even past the incident that introduced the dragon.

POV: You can't cast magic so you help your father with his job protecting artefacts and end up exposed to a cursed sword with an evil dragon in it.

It's my guy Khent! His grand debut! (Along with his pre-divorced parents Keyne and Evelyn and aforementioned dragon.) He's cursed, he's gay, he's trans, he's mentally ill, and he's gonna go on an adventure!

I have absolutely no clue to start with this guy I have soooooo much art of him in my backlog and half of it I am for sure not posting cause I've changed his design too much.

What's the pace I'm going? No one knows! I'm probably gonna post a few things. I am 100% open to questions about him or any of my ocs and their companions.
