the origin of the golden☆lovers is, of course, incredibly romantic but also less acknowledged is that its funny as fuck. like Hey btw this canadian guy you dont know but says ur his favourite wrestler has had a crush on you for 2 years now and wants to fly to japan specifically to fight you and has filmed himself doing some bullshit in his friends garden to convince you he's worth ur time r you up for it. and ibushi was like well i havent got anything else going on. and then it turned out it was his fucking soulmate

ALSO about this post when you go through like all the g☆l stuff and all the like really gay and cheesy stuff it basically all comes from kenny. he just wont shut up about how much he loves him. so it can kinda leave you wondering if ibushi doesn't feel the same since he's a lot more reserved, i guess? about things. then reading that one its like ohhhhhh okay. ibushi can't be as openly romantic because if he said half the things kenny did kenny would explode and die probably.

kenny's giving speeches about how "i'm the best entirely because of you" but ibushi one time goes "we share a heart" and he's found dead and dying. okay

btw never let them make you forget that in the end, it's because of kota ibushi. kenny went to japan and truly kicked off his wrestling career there because of ibushi. they were called the golden lovers because ibushi's nickname is the golden star. the golden elite is also based on ibushi's nickname. if you erase the side of kenny's character that is so intrinsically built upon ibushi's presence in his life, you're erasing an essential part of what makes kenny so great in the first place.
