“thank you, james.” he gave the other an appreciative smiling, knowing he would’ve continued on until he was right in one way or another.  He continuously laughed at the other’s awful directions for him as he tried to carry the other to his bedroom based off his directions.  He left out a sigh of relief once the pair actually bad it to the bed.  He let the other cuddle into him, slowly wrapping his arm around the other to pull him closer gently.  A bit of confusion rose in his mind, but he pushed it aside and just enjoyed the other boy’s company.  “here, just let me pull some up on my phone.” he rolled slightly to his side so he could pull his phone out of his back pocket, pulling up a video and held it up on his stomach with his free hand so the two of them could both see it.  he nuzzled his nose gently into the other’s hair, giving him a small kiss at his hairline.

“i mean i guess, but it could’ve come up in small talk eventually.” he reasoned, although just let the conversation drop off a bit, “alright, alright i trust you.” he laughed with the other one as he engulfed him into the duvet cover.  “alright, you’re right.” newt shook his head at the other, unwrapping himself from the duvet cover so he could pick up james to carry him up the stairs so the other didn’t have to walk.  “Okay so where’s your bedroom.”

❝ you’re not a bad friend, newt. ❞ james figured he needed to spell it out for the other, he knew him well enough that he wouldn’t believe him otherwise. ❝ uh, left,.. left, left! no you’re other left, right, i meant. ❞ he laughed, smiling ecstatically once he was reunited with his bed, pulling newt onto it with him and making sure he had enough room before getting comfortable with his arms wrapping naturally over the other’s stomach as his head rested on his chest. ❝ i am so comfortable, can you sort out the tv–no, wait, then you’ll need to move. ugh, life is so hard. ❞

“don’t be an idiot, harry.  he’s not worth risking your scholarship or your place on the team and we both know that.” newt let out a chuckle at the idea of harry working at the theatre, “no you don’t actually get to watch any of the films.  You press the start button and leave the booth.  Plus most of it is counter sales for the popcorn and everything.” newt let out a scoff as he watched the other down the contents of his glass, pouting slightly as he snatched the glass from him.  “you could’ve just asked for your own glass, i offered you one.” he mumbled annoyed as he poured himself more, except now guarding it with his body as he took a couple sips from it. “Oh a date.  Oh, a guy?  I haven’t exactly been on one with a guy myself but I assume since he’s the one that asked you out, he’s the one that pays and plans it and all that stuff?  I mean, you’re basically the girl in this situation aren’t you?”  he stated, slightly teasing, but slightly serious.

❝ yeah, i know, it’s just annoying. ❞ he shrugged, feeling like he didn’t get the space he wanted away from his family. ❝ that’s so boring, why do you work there? ❞ harry frowned, thinking that newt had a great job but was soon disappointed. ❝ gimme my own, ❞ harry pouted himself though laughed at his attempt to guard the glass, almost wanting to try and steal it again. ❝ what do you mean? i thought you liked guys too, why haven’t you been on a date with one? the girl? dude, no. i don’t think it works like that...i’ll just pay half. ❞

“Oh yeah, well – i can just go and you can go back to doing that then, huh?” he teased.  “oh no, i’m alright, thank you though.  You know, I guess I never did ask you?  I guess I’m a pretty shit friend, huh?” he winced slightly at how little he might actually know about James.  “Pinatas?  I don’t really think those are vegetables, babe? I would love to watch vines with you, but i dont really know about the duvet bit, it looks a bit small.”

❝ no, no, please don’t. ❞ james laughed, his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth ever so slightly. ❝ nah, what a weird question to randomly ask someone–i’d have thought you were a weirdo. yeah, you’re probably right. it’s not small, okay? trust me, will you trust me? ❞ he chuckled, moving closer as he just opened his arms and engulfed newt in the duvet with him. ❝ see? you fit just fine, but now we have to try and get upstairs...❞

“yeah you should’ve fucking texted.” he crossed his arms, childishly.  he just took the coffee from the other, taking a small sip.  His eyes went from cold to empathetic at the mention of the other’s brother.  “Wait, excuse me?  What do you mean your brother is in town?  Excuse me, don’t just mention that in passing?  What happened?  How long has he been here? Also you told me you didn’t want to celebrate you’re birthday – ooooh. Wait but, you always bring people here?”

❝ i’m sorry, dude, i will next time. ❞ he nodded, sending him a sympathetic smile. ❝ ugh, you know, i really can’t be bothered with it all. i don’t know, he was in three cups, i tried to get us coffee and–ugh, it doesn’t matter. he’s staying, he’s got a job here. i think my dad’s trying to fuck me over or something. it doesn’t matter, it’s fine, i’m just going to stay in the apartment forever–i mean, you do and you’re fine. ❞ theo subtly teased, wanting to move away from the subject of his brother as soon as possible but newt was right to have his questions. ❝ i didn’t. well, things got kind of weird at camping so i went to apologise and she invited me to stay, so...and, uh, i don’t know, i invite people here to fuck, not to hang out. ❞

“well I feel like you’d still be in bed watching vine compilations.” he teased the other, ultimately giving him the coffee, “a vegan?  how am i just now finding this out?” he looked at the other in amusement as he went on with his rambles, ducking his head to hide his laughs.  “Umm vegetables?  I don’t know much about vegetables, bro.”

❝ ah, obviously i’d prefer to be watching them still. i’m kidding, i’m glad you came–shit though, where are my manners? do you want a drink or anything? i don’t know, did you ever ask me if i was one? ❞ james laughed with a shrug. ❝ what do you mean you don’t know about vegetables? carrots, dude, lettuce...piñatas...okay, so um, do you wanna go watch vines with me? i know it doesn’t seem like it now, but this duvet can fit two people in. ❞

“allerton?  That’s pretty sick, my last name is allerton too!  Kinda funny though, never met someone else with my last name. Wait you’d rather watch a bee give birth?  Then experience the fantastic duo that is troy bolton and gabriella montez?  Although, I do suppose it would be sorta cool, you might get stung though.”

“okay so mom might’ve pulled a string or two? cause our parents care about you and don’t exactly appreciate that you’ve moved thirty six hours away.  Yes it’s a proper job and no i won’t be leaving it any time soon.  I’m not good at everything theodore, don’t even start.”
