long time not posting here!!
I think I've been getting comfortable remaking things from scratch bc this is the second try o)-( it's scary to let a big amount of progress go, but anything to actually match the vision I had in mind
as you can see in the timelapse, I tried making details with outlined layers instead of lining them one by one. I learned it the hard way when I was working on itaru bd 😭 (also why it's still unfinished to this day) and this has saved me soo many hours
god I should finish that bd art...... I want it to be finished but the details scare me. maybe I'll go back to it in several days, it's gonna be a long weekend over here too
anyway, I can't wait for pleasant spring hehe,, harukoi has been living in my head rent free for days now & I can't wait for the full version (I do think the release schedule is a lowk unfair tho 😔)

this is the first time I can finish his bd art on time (despite one huge setback), so I get to spend the whole day celebrating o))-( outfit is a nightmare to deal with as always, but I love it too much to give up hehe

this is my first full render work made using csp 5.0 and it's such a blessing.... I can edit colors & liquify on multiple layers, the file size with timelapse record on only reaches 100mb-ish (usually it takes up to 1gb), and smart shape saved a ton of time lining
but the setback I mentioned above is that I had to start all over again when I only had 2 days left. why? because I accidentally made it too similar to banri's bd card 😭
I WAS ALREADY SO FAR IN THE LINING-
this is how it's supposed to look like. I set (?) the 3d models myself with some ideas/references from pinterest without even thinking to check other cards first. it's only waaay later when I looked for outfit reference from the others when I found this out 😭🔫
I consulted a friend and they said it's fine, it's an honest mistake, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. what if it'll come across as tracing or heavy referencing? I decided to play it safe and just remake it, knowing I needed to sacrifice details/quality because I had to speedrun it in two days
still, I end up liking the new version o)-( altho I probably over detailed the cakes lol
also the typography behind is my failed attempt on using affinity ehehe 🤸♀️ the masking selection was horrible and my laptop almost exploded just from running it so maybe I'll just try using csp, as insane as it sounds
anyway, I'm glad to live long enough to witness another birthdaykage! thank you for existing and making my worst time so far much more bearable. even just looking at the moon gives me reassurance because of you, chikage 😊

probably the most indecisive drawing process so far 🤸♀️
tbh I both love and hate the result bc it's way different from what I had in mind o(-( in the timelapse is clear that I wanted to do fullbody+closeup but scrapped it in the process. I thought just a portrait would be good but it looked so empty so I added a chibi last minute before posting and the overall picture still ended up feeling lackluster (I couldn't be bothered with background) (btw I'm using a soft brush this time! it feels like I have two distinct styles now 😭)
as you can tell, I'm not used to draw smiling faces and he unfortunately looks a bit scary here (tho I kinda like it.... like he knows all your secrets-)
idk. that's just how art is I think,, sometimes you don't know what you're doing or what you even want from it :3c
also I'm trying csp 5.0 after using 1.0 for so many years.... smart shape is op as hell and it's the best new feature ever next to multiple layer correction mwah mwah
