You think about your love for sit-coms. Something about them comforts you. Maybe it’s how all the problems are tied up by the end, wrapped up in a box. Maybe it’s the punchlines, the tag lines, the laugh track. Maybe it’s the sets with only three walls. Maybe it’s watching reruns from the 90s and feeling comfortably nostalgic.

You watch some old I Love Lucy episodes and feel touched by how goofy and ahead of her time Lucille Ball was. The couple were married in real life. They acted and lived as an interracial couple living in a New York City condo in the 50s. Way to be progressive, kiddos. You Google her and find out she died exactly one month before you were born and the absurd thought crosses your mind that maybe some of her comedic spirit was reincarnated into you. 

Maybe. 

You think about the main reason you want to find love, and you can’t help but think it has a lot to do with comedy. You find humor in everything. You see a lightness. Your mind is an infinite bank of puns and movie quotes and one-liners. You think about how much the quality of your life would improve if you had a constant buddy to bounce jokes off of. Maybe you could crack the system together and live in eternal hilarity.
