turning these into characters is so much fun but I quickly realized is not sustainable for me to do every day if I actually want to finish this challenge haha (which I do! ...as usual, we'll see how long that lasts 😅), so I decided I'll mix it up between character drawings, and sketches/studies straight from the reference with varying levels of detail

was drawing jaller and suddenly had an epiphany re: the "haven't I drawn this very specific stylized shape somewhere before??" that I hadn't realized was nagging at the back of my mind

the Mahri were my favorite team, largely cause I always liked Hahli :) If they ever get their hands on a Toa stone I think they should recruit Macku... after all they're probably going to get saddled with all the sea missions now, another Toa of Water wouldn't hurt, right?
