#rune factory 4#rf4 frey#rf4 lest#rf4 margaret#draw everything june#finally a batch post that looks somewhat cohesive haha#holding myself back from spending so much time on rendering/lighting means i can turn more of these into characters which is fun#or maybe it's the other way around lol#i really like how rf4 gives the player character some personality instead of just being “you”#def one of my top farming-type games on account of how lively the characters and dialogue are#especially the relationships between people in the town‚ it's something that can easily fall flat in this type of game i feel#admittedly was a little put off the series when i looked up past games characters#and saw that out of the handful of brown girls two of them (which is like. half of them) are maids#(one of whom used to be queen of the elves and chose to come be a maid in the human world instead? i'm. not sure if that's better or worse)#idk i understand the connotations and history are different in japan vs my country (US)#and like i'm white it's maybe not really my place to judge the quality of the representation here. i just felt weird about it lol#on another note though it was really neat to hear how open the devs were to adjusting the marriage mechanics in 5 after the#localization team brought it up#& apparently in the newest game there is a new lady who is neither a maid nor Wolf Girl Who Speaks Wolf Language so that's cool#...“struggles with anything requiring brains instead of brawn” oh... ok. 😭 she seems cute though#anyway thanks for reading my ted talk again sorry if i said anything out of my lane#i feel like i either write nothing in the tags or a massive essay of every thought i've ever had while drawing the picture lmao#in conclusion. i think rf4 is my fave in the genre for characters#and sv is top for overall aesthetic/feeling of the seasons (especially music + ambient sound)#both also great in terms of gameplay & QoL
