btw while people continue to fight the system don't forget about Undue Medical Debt (formerly RIP Medical Debt), a charity that buys and forgives medical debt. on average a donation of $10 will forgive $1,000 of medical debt.
I'm fairly confident that this is now the one original post I've made that has gotten the most notes, and I honestly couldn't be happier. the more attention we give this, the higher the chances that someone will see this and donate. medical debt is both one of the most crushing things a person can deal with and one of the stupidest things humanity has invented. and if you live in the US, I have no doubt that you've had to deal with medical debt in your life, either for yourself or a loved one. even a small donation can do so much good, and now is the time of year when we are encouraged to think of others.

Nothing screams low IQ as much as using Character AI and AI nudes for titillation instead of writing/drawing those scenarios by hand. Our species evolved to be capable of storytelling and this kind of behavior quite literally makes one’s standards lower than that of a monkey
Thank you all for your incredible generosity. As most of you know, aid into Gaza has been severly limited, making the prices of even the simplest things like flour astronomically expensive. Because of this, majority of the funds raised have been used to stave off starvation as famine sweeps through beseiged Gaza. There is a glimmer of hope on the horizon: there is a possibility of the Rafah crossing reopening, meaning people can evacuate once more. It is Mahmoud's greatest wish to evacuate his family, especially his parents as soon possible, and because of this, we've increased the goal amount in hopes of collecting enough money to evacuate the Balousha family. Previously it cost nearly $10,000 to evacuate one person. The new evacuation cost is to be seen. Please donate if you can to help this family escape from this war.
Help my family evacuate from here
Your help would have been the reason for saving and escaping my family from the difficult war. Help them here.
I’ve texted their hotline before. It was super helpful and even if it hadn’t been the amount of time you’re there can be enough to let your urges fade and stay safe.

I'm Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of pursuing a degree in e-business management and building a career. However, due to my family's financial hardships, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (KYTC), affiliated with UNRWA. Sadly, the war has turned the college, once a beacon of hope and education, into a shelter for displaced families, stripping it of its educational purpose.
I completed high school with a 93% average, filled with excitement about continuing my education and securing a job to support my family. But like so many others, the war has shattered those dreams.
My younger brother, Ahmad, is 14 years old and currently in the third grade of preparatory school. We’ve always called him "Doctor of the Future" because of his intelligence and natural talent in mathematics. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing war, he has been deprived of schooling for the second consecutive year. In addition to his academic abilities, Ahmad has a passion for football and used to win tournaments.
Our Life in Displacement: The war forced our family to flee to Rafah, where we lived in a tent for several months. Each day, my brother and I would wake up to fetch water, gather wood, and light a fire to prepare food. Survival became our daily task, but we never gave up hope. The conflict affected us deeply, but it did not extinguish our dreams of education and a better future.
🚀 How Your Donation will Help us:
We are seeking €29,000 to help Ahmed and me leave Gaza, continue our education. More importantly, it will allow us to support our family, who have been deeply affected by the harsh conditions and skyrocketing costs of living due to the ongoing war in Gaza.
We've outlined how your donations will make this possible. You can find all the details in the campaign link below.
👉 Donation link: 🔗https://gofund.me/32e5e95e
Your contribution will not only help us escape the war-torn reality we live in but also give us the opportunity to rebuild our futures.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to our goal.
With deepest gratitude,
Anas & Ahmed

To all the trans people who see this tonight, no matter what happens, we will survive. Trans people will still be here 4 years from now and 10 years from now and 100 years from now and tomorrow. We have always existed and we always will. The world cannot unlearn about us; we are too public, too loud, too beloved, too present. Ill be here tomorrow. Please stay here with me.
if you're feeling powerless right now—and god knows I am—here's a reminder you can donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds, the Trans Law Center, Gaza Soup Kitchen, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and hundreds of other charities that will work to mitigate the damage that has been and will continue to be inflicted
life continues. we still have the capacity to do good, important work. that matters
esims are low again. check out connecting humanity for more information on directly sending esims or for a linked to crips for esims for gaza's fundraising. you can also set up a recurring donation on chuffed for esims. i have a weekly donation here because being able to keep as many people as possible connected to the rest of the world is critical for documenting the situation and allowing individuals to continue their own grassroots fundraising/organizing
I want to tell a story to the artists and would-be artists out there.
When I was 19, I made a large oil painting of the nerd I would eventually marry. I poured all my attention and care into this painting. It's the only art I have from back then that still holds up as a work I'm proud of today.
I entered it into a judged show at the local art center. It got an honorable mention. I went to see the show with my beloved model. One of the judges came up to talk to me, and highlighted that all the judges really liked the painting. It would have placed, except, you see, the feet were incorrect. They were too wide and short, and if I just studied a bit more anatomy-
I called over my future wife, and asked her to take off her shoe. Being already very used to humoring me, she did. The judge looked at her very short, very wide little foot. Exactly as I'd lovingly rendered it. I would never edit her appearance in any way.
The judge looked me in the eye, and to his credit, he really looked like he meant it when he said "Oh I'm so sorry."
Anyways the moral of the story is that all of those anatomy books that teach you proportions are either showing you averages, or a very specific idea of an idealized body. Actual bodies are much more varied than that.
So don't forget to draw from observation, and remember that humans aren't mass produced mannequins. Delight in our variation. Because it's supposed to be there.
Almost two million people in Gaza are living through high levels of acute food insecurity, according to the IPC, a UN-backed monitoring body

So... I found this and now it keeps coming to mind. You hear about "life-changing writing advice" all the time and usually its really not—but honestly this is it man.
I love the lawyer metaphor, because whenever I see “John knew that...” in prose writing I immediately think “how? How does he know it?” Interrogate your witnesses. Cross-examine them. Make them explain their reasoning. It pays dividends.
First, let me preface this with something very important: you can treat all of this advice as SECOND-DRAFT ADVICE. It is so much easier to rewrite this kind of stuff once you have words on the page. Telling yourself the first draft is totally appropriate and acceptable.
What we’re talking about here are FILTER WORDS (and to some degree verbs of being). Yes, “thought” words are included. But so are “heard, saw, looked, tasted, smelled” etc.—most words having to do with the senses.
This isn’t black and white advice; sometimes you’ll use these words and that’s okay. They’re not WRONG. They’re just weaker. And they’re weaker because they create distance between the reader and the experience of the character.*
If you want your reader to feel like they’re experiencing the story right alongside the character, you want to cut down on filter words.
*This is particularly important with first person and close third POVs. The reader always knows whose eyes they’re seeing through and thoughts they’re privy to. So you don’t need to tell them “I saw X.” Or “I heard X.” Or “I thought Y.” You can just jump into the action/observation as it’s happening.
This is also where you want to pay attention to verbs of being.
“It was rainy.” Versus: “The rain pounded against the roof.” Or “The rain howled like an injured animal.” Or “The rain tapped against the window like an anxious lover.” All of these are inviting the reader deeper into the experience of the story by using stronger verbs and similes. And, at the same time, they stir feelings (instead of TELLING feelings). And feelings keep your reader engaged. Engaged readers keep turning pages; engaged readers become FANS.
Do you know anything i can donate to for palestine that's not the gofundmes because the idea of having to choose who needs my money more is just. scary to me they all need it 3: maybe there's a thing that splits/distributes money evenly???? idk but help would be appreciated
Gazafunds actually deals with this anxiety and makes a decision for you if you want. Their home page has a spotlighted fundraiser and the code consider things like how close the gfm is to finishing, when the most recent donation is, etc. So it's randomized to help as many people as possible.
There's also @helpgazachildren which if you donate, you can help multiple people at once since it's a whole mutual aid fund, or at least close to it. Hussam distributes money to people who need it when he's asked.
Also are those people forgetting that in the past when a genocide/war has occurred we weren't living in an era where common people basically live half of their lives online...... saying that a "real Palestinian wouldnt have time to ebeg on tumblr" is like saying "oh a real hamas combatant wouldnt have time to make tiktoks in the middle of a war zone" like are those fake too lmao
A pretty strange aspect of the current accelerated genocide in Ghazzah is the simultaneous terror and boredom. Because there's literally fucking nothing to do when society has collapsed and all infrastructure has been destroyed. This is why there's plenty of videos of people sitting together and singing, or going to the beach to hang out, or coming up with activities for the kids in refugee camps to lift their moods.
Not that any of this matters to anyone who's already scrutinizing genocide survivors to this extent. If you can, with full confidence, already decide you know more than Palestinians about Palestinians, and go far enough to dehumanize us, accuse all the Ghazzans on tumblr of being scams or fake because they do things you wouldn't do or speak in a way you're not familiar, you have dehumanized us completely. You do not see us as people and you're not looking to empathize, sympathize, or try to understand the circumstances of Ghazzawiyeh and that they're just doing their best to deal with them.
dumb takes like that are also proof that these people don't talk to palestinians in gaza. as hussein said aside from the daily struggle to survive (food, shelter, etc.) theres literally nothing to do anymore because israel destroyed it all
my friend siraj @siraj2024 told me over whatsapp that he literally spends 8 hours online messaging people, making posts and videos, documenting his life, etc. in the hopes that people on social media will donate to his gfm. thats a full work day. thats what he does instead of his job now because israel bombed his workplace and is trying to kill him
as always i have to ask people to read the posts on his blog and donate to his fundraiser. he's trying to get his children out of the cold right now.
every piece of mainstream media out there rn dehumanizes palestinians and its truly only by engaging with them as real human beings that we can start to undo that dehumanization within ourselves
Winter has come hard for us after displacement. There are no walls to protect us from the cold, nor enough blankets or heavy clothes, after we lost everything trying to survive with our lives.
What I want now is to rent an apartment for my father, mother, children, and their mothers only, to protect them from the deadly danger of winter.
“You must be a human being before you can be smart, rich, and educated. All things fall if your humanity falls.”
Save my family to survive🙏

Drawing your blorbos with a watermelon isn't bad and it does spread awareness but. If drawing your blorbos with a watermelon is all you do when you could actually fucking do more then you're not doing much. Call your fucking representatives. Go to a protest. Don't give up on Palestine. Do not stop talking about Palestine. This is a genocide not a fucking trend
