âWeâre aiming for a job in which people will come to be when they have problems. Sort of like an⌠RA for the school. But, less concerned with the rules of the rules of dorming. We are ironing out the details.â Sooraya explained. âFor now, Iâm showing you our school and avoiding conflict, apparently.â
âYouâre doing a wonderful job at avoiding conflict. If I gotta fill out a performance report or anything like that Iâll definitely put that in your âProsâ box.â Deadpool hadnât been inside the school for a few months, it was still an impressive looking building and not much had changed, but the absence of Logan was felt. âI didnât think I was ever gonna make it, the whole Avenger thing, itâs kinda funny how life works out. Now here i am, pretty much accepted walkinâ through the halls of this pretty prestigious school. Iâm pretty great at starting up conflicts but you must be adept at resolvinâ them if you wanna be someone the students can go to with their teen angst issues.â
âDespite evidence to the contrary, I abhor violence. So perhaps avoiding it, or maybe preventing it, is my secondary mutation.â Sooraya mused. âWell.. thank you, Mister... ah, Deadpool.â She continued her walk, her hands at her sides.Â
Her head tilted to the side slightly. âThe word Avenger is not a kind word around here.â She warned. âThey did do us a grave wrong. But it was also S.H.I.E.L.D. But from what I understand, you report to Captain Steve Rogers. Not to Tony Stark. Not to S.H.I.E.L.D. So, you have my trust. Although trust is hard to come by. I know youâre aware.â Sooraya turned the corner of one hallway, leaning against the wall to face him.Â
âStarting conflicts is easy. Weâre teenagers. Weâre hormonal and weâre emotional. And on top of that, weâre blessed with these gifts that some view as curses. If I can make one person believe that they are in fact a blessing... then perhaps I can take away teen angst issues as their super power.â
âThank you very much for this. You do not know how much it means.â She said, very sincerely, giving one finger gun in return. âMister Collins⌠Rusty, mentioned something of a special class, and we were discussing that, once. So⌠but Iâm sorry, what has happened to Jubilee?â
âOh, yâknow, typical X-Men stuff. Possession by some all-powerful asshole, followed by a few months of brooding. Sheâll be okay.â Thatâs what they were all telling themselves, anyway. âYâknow, Rusty might like some help with his class, if youâre interested.â
Soorayaâs eyes widen for a moment, shock on all her features.  âIâm not sure if thatâs typical.â She admitted, brows furrowing. But, then again, she did go to Limbo. Among other things. âAs long as sheâll be alright.â Eventually. She shifted in her seat slightly, straightening her back and sitting up a bit taller. âI suppose Iâd need to talk to him about that, first.â Her gaze lowered as she thought of the original Special Class.Â
âThe first Special Class was exile. At least, thatâs what it felt like. Dean and Mike... ah, Dummy and Basilisk. They didnât make it to the end of their school careers. If Rusty can change how that class is, then I would be more than happy if he would have me.â
She shrugged. âI donât see why not. You helped us when Hope came back. Many of us saw you fighting. And if we werenât afraid of you due to your reputation, we realized that you indeed had an excellent fighting spirit.â Sooraya reassured. âMany people call me Dust. But you may call me Sooraya. And, no, Iâm a graduate of this school. Ms. Pryde and I are working on a âjobâ for me in the school.â
âSooraya, okay. Cool.â Wade didnât know how much of his involvement with Loganâs X-Force Sooraya was aware of, he had no idea if she knew heâd been there when Evan had been brought back to the school with the amnesiac Angel. He didnât know if Sooraya knew heâd been there when they died. Deadpool didnât mention it, either. âWhat kind of job are you lookinâ for? Teaching? Administration? I bet you teachers who are also full-time X-Men are kept re-eal busy.â
âWeâre aiming for a job in which people will come to be when they have problems. Sort of like an... RA for the school. But, less concerned with the rules of the rules of dorming. We are ironing out the details.â Sooraya explained. âFor now, Iâm showing you our school and avoiding conflict, apparently.â

X-Men #207: Messiah Complex
âI think the ship for me being a math professor has passed.â Sooraya smiled lightly, shifting in her seat. âWhy⌠thank you. I hope everyone shares that sentiment in current times. And⌠thank you. I think.â
âWe got the job, now we just gotta work out how to get you there,â Kitty decided, triumphant finger guns punctuating her words, âI could set you up with Jubes. When she, um, is back to being Jubes. Sheâll know the best place for you to start.â
âThank you very much for this. You do not know how much it means.â She said, very sincerely, giving one finger gun in return. âMister Collins... Rusty, mentioned something of a special class, and we were discussing that, once. So... but Iâm sorry, what has happened to Jubilee?â
Soorayaâs eyes took a long look at the Avenger, trying to think of what to say. âI donât know if the Danger Room is open, but Iâm not sure if fighting my peers is how you wish to spend your afternoon. If it is, then⌠I wish youâd reconsider violence as the best teaching tool. And I donât think respect for you lacks here, Mister⌠Deadpool.â
âReally? You think they respect me? âCause, honestly, thatâs all Iâve ever wanted. Itâs been a recurrinâ theme in the past that the X-Men shun anâ punch me, I guess fame and piles upon piles of cash really do bring good fortune.â Whether Deadpoolâs words were spoken with tongue firmly in cheek or in total sincerity he refused to make clear. âOkay this is gonna be a little awkward, âcause weâve already been hanging around for a good fifteen minutes, but I never caught your name. Or what you do. Do you teach?â
Ms. Pryde and I are working on a âjobâ for me in the school.â
âYouâre expecting a fire or someone to get into a fight? Those only happen on Thursdays.â She waited for some sort of recognition of her joke. She cleared her throat. âWhat would you like to see if not a tour? You werenât exactly a regular here.â
Deadpool offered a polite laugh, it was the right thing to do, and he shrugged. âThe tour is fine, I guess, but I was hopinâ Iâd get some of the rowdy kids in a combat session ask to fight me, then youâd be all âno, thatâs not how this worksâ and Iâd already be rollinâ up my proverbial sleeves⌠then Iâd show those punks how itâs done and theyâd have a new-found respect for me.â Deadpool shrugged again. âThe tour is fine.â
Soorayaâs eyes took a long look at the Avenger, trying to think of what to say. âI donât know if the Danger Room is open, but Iâm not sure if fighting my peers is how you wish to spend your afternoon. If it is, then... I wish youâd reconsider violence as the best teaching tool. And I donât think respect for you lacks here, Mister... Deadpool.â
âIâm doing well. What of yourself?â
âOh, yâknow, the usual mutant problems.â
âWhat of Alex Summers, not our race?â

@turaabs liked your post for a starter.
âYâknow, I kinda hoped that my time visiting the school as a Unity Squad liaison would be more exciting than this. You got anythinâ else goinâ on besides the guided tour?â
âYouâre expecting a fire or someone to get into a fight? Those only happen on Thursdays.â She waited for some sort of recognition of her joke. She cleared her throat. âWhat would you like to see if not a tour? You werenât exactly a regular here.â
âThat⌠sounds annoying, I suppose.â
âEheh⌠so how are you?â
âIâm doing well. What of yourself?â
âAre you alright, Mister Summers?â
âIâm fine, Sooraya. Just sick of having to fix my hair so much.â
âThat... sounds annoying, I suppose.â
That sounded like something Sooraya could do. âThatâs a therapist.â She pointed out, before realizing she missed the joke by thinking to much. So she let out a small, slightly forced chuckle. âSorry.â She said after clearing her throat. âI actually believe that would suit me better. Can you really see me in a scenario like that?âÂ
âAbsolutely. And not only because I think you could excel at anything you set your mind to.â It was so corny it hurt to say, but that didnât make it any less true. âYouâre a good listener, Sooraya. And youâre easy to talk to. Thatâs a great combo for any profession. I already like you better than my own therapist.â
âI think the ship for me being a math professor has passed.â Sooraya smiled lightly, shifting in her seat. âWhy... thank you. I hope everyone shares that sentiment in current times. And... thank you. I think.â
   âThatâs it, no more mask.â
âAre you alright, Mister Summers?â

Sooraya nodded. âI still live here. Itâs all Iâve known for quite a while. Despite the⌠changes.â Or perhaps it was the X-men she stayed with. âDo you live near here? Because Iâd hate for your visit just to be consumed to being stuck talking to the girl who made tea.â
âNew York isnât that far, you donât need to worry about me.â She smiled. âI really donât mind. Itâs actually kind of nice. Itâs been a while since I just sat down and had a talk with someone.â
âIâm afraid thatâs my secondary mutation.â She mused, before going on. âWell, I do hope Iâm not a boring conversational partner. After everything, Iâm afraid I may be rusty. I hope youâll let me try my hand at it.â
