"The Russian Vodka Room is a bar in New York famous for its infused vodkas. The strawberry-infused vodka tastes like you're drinking a healthy berry elixir, but it's actually straight vodka. We're drinking the strawberry juice by the martini glass.
We've just played at the Roseland Ballroom with blink-182 and now we're celebrating. We can legally drink in Australia, but we're not twenty-one so we're still underage in the US. No one asks to see our IDs. It's an open bar and Sony are picking up the tab.
Ben (second-from-right) is thirsty. He drinks three strawberry-infused martinis in the space of twenty minutes. Each martini is the equivalent of three drinks, so it's like he's had nine shots in a row. Plus, the three cigarettes he's puffing on at once. Ben doesn't smoke cigarettes.
When the blink-182 manager [Rick DeVoe] walks into the bar to join us, Ben stands up to say hi, but instead of words, spew comes out. It's like something out of a cartoon. Somehow Ben projectile vomits sideways straight onto the manager's chest. His mouth is a hose. ben panics and tries to avert the flow, but instead the stream of spew is directed straight down the manager's body; from his chest to his feet.
'Taxiiii,' Watto yells, as Ben's body goes limp.
The manager is in shock. blink-182 are in hysterics. And Ben is barely able to walk. Watto and another friend carry him down the street to our hotel. About halfway back, he sobers up a bit. He's straight enough to walk again, but he doesn't tell Watto or the friend that. He lets them carry him to bed."
