NPC Shuffle || Yoichi & Miho
Keisatsu stood next to Tsundoki and scanned the street, clearly not liking what he was seeing. Â He already began gearing up for a fight. Â Yoichi could tell his PokĂŠmon was quickly becoming skittish; he turned around to hush him. Â Michi rang the doorbell before either adult could make a move and rolled on the ball of her heels, swaying back and forth. Â The blonde was pleased she was in such a good mood, but the tense atmosphere still gave him a bad vibe.
Footsteps neared the door and it swung wide open.  A man - assumed to be Michiâs father - scooped her up and immediately slammed the door in Yoichiâs face.  He stared at the door, shocked that he got shut out twice in one day in the same neighborhood.  âIâŚsuppose we completed that mission?â  His Carracosta growled at a light that flicked on across the street.  Several NPCâs began exiting their houses.  They stood on their porches and just stared at the two players.
âI donât like the looks of this. Â Kei, keep it under control.â Â The Water-type was displeased to hear that order, but stopped growling and straightened himself up. Â âI think we should probably just ask them whatâs going on. Â Canât hurt.â
The sudden creak of the door caught Miho off guard, causing her to glance over her shoulder with a wide-eyed expression. A gruff man took the little girl and quickly cut off their view of her. Miho narrowed her eyes and scowled. There was no thanks and there was no explanation. Usually, a mission like this would end in grateful parents and happy children. The man had been too abrupt and the ending too soon. âYup, donât you feel so welcomed and satisfied?â Miho raised her brows.
Focus turning to the light, Miho took a half-step back before taking another step forward. Various NPCs filed into view, their attention on the strangers, their intent unclear. Miho gritted her teeth. She was scared but she was becoming increasingly pissed off. Victory Road Online wasnât marketed as a horror game but this was slowly turning into a frightening scenario.Â
Miho closed her eyes and exhaled an exasperated breath. âLetâs get this shit done, yeah?" Concentrating her attention to the scowl on her features as to distract herself from her mounting fear and unease, Miho started to walk towards the NPCs. As she approached them, however, she noticed that very few were paying attention to her as opposed to Yoichi.Â
